Yeh im pretty surprised Russell was picked over Bailey. I guess Russell might have the slightest edge in terms of defence? Bailey is defs the better player despite the improvemrnt of Russell over the current season

Russell has only played one Cup game this year, versus Simonsson's four. And that was Round 3, when Addo-Carr returned and Ryles was persisting with Lomax in the centres (and Samrani on one wing).

I'd say in Ryles' view Russell is now our third choice winger (behind Lomax and Addo-Carr) and our first or second choice centre (behind Pensini).

I think some of those cup games involve bailey coming back from injury - twice? I think it was. So really its probably a lot closer than what those cup games might indicate but hey if he picks russell over a healthy bailey then youre probably right

Honestly I am not a fan of either Russell or Simmonson. As first graders
Russell has been solid this year so I assume he deserves to hold his spot..

Yeh i kind of see it but i just feel like bailey just offers so much more in attack e.g will pass the ball to the winger (had that nice offload for lomax to score and another lomax dropped vs panthers) and makes some tough runs in our own half. I dont think hes that bad defensively either but what do i know im not a nrl coach
