Impact (outside of the Garrett Bishoff angle) has been the best 2 hours of wrestling outside of the "Indy's" (expecting WYD to tear me a new one on why ROH isn't an Indy).

Just saw the Abyss angle.

After scratching my head and wondering what Penn Jillette was doing in TNA, it looked to have a lot of promise.

I thought Abyss really pulled it off, and they definitely needed to do something new with him.

Only the 2 main event matches clicked, with the usual crap main event finish (James Storm kicking Bobby Roode through the cage door for him to retain the TNA Title), the Team Garrett vs Team Eric match finished with both Garrett + Eric in the ring, 2 squashes (TV Title + Knockouts Tag Titles), the rest were at best Impact standard.

Complete results:

Team Garrett (Garrett Bischoff, AJ Styles, RVD, Austin Aries, Ken Anderson) def. Team Eric (Eric Bischoff, Gunner, Bubba Ray, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian). Eric Bischoff now has to leave TNA and can't use the name Bischoff anymore.

Samoa Joe + Magnus def. MCMG to retain the TNA Tag Titles

Gail Kim def. Velvet Skye to retain the TNA Knockouts Title

D-Von def. Robbie E to retain the TNA TV Title

Hulk Hogan beat up Ric Flair

Crimson def. Matt Morgan

Jeff Hardy def. Kurt Angle

Bobby Roode def. James Storm to retain the TNA Heavyweight Title

The only match that felt like a PPV match was Hardy/Angle. The finish to Storm/Roode was a terrible decision and completely deflated the crowd.

Speaking of the crowd, they were f**king awful! They turned potentially decent matches (such as MCMG/Joe & Magnus) into absolute snores, and this wasn't helped by the dull Crimson/Morgan match; the lack of need for a cage in the knockout match; the fact nobody gives a shit about Garrett Bischoff; and the fact that Hogan/Flair managed to bury the entire roster in promoting a feud between them that will raise no money...

Potentially good PPV again spoiled by poor booking, a needless focus on ALL CAGES, and a dire crowd.

Hogan announced two pretty interesting changes to Impact Wrestling on tonight's tapings. What do you think?

* Impact Wrestling will be "Open Fight Night" once a month. On Open Fight Night, a talent from outside TNA gets a match to earn a roster spot. Three judges along with Hulk Hogan will decide if the talent gets a contract with TNA. Additionally, anyone on the TNA roster can challenge anyone else during Open Fight Night and that person must accept. This includes title matches.

* The TNA TV Title will be defended every week on TV.

What do ya'll think? I'm actually really intrigued by the first one. Gives the somewhat stale roster a bit of an 'indy feel' that might make for interesting viewing and freshen things up. Might lure in a few casual reality TV fans too.

Second decision just makes sense.

I like the TNA TV Title situation. Lifts it up a bit more as opposed to being TNA's version of the WWF European Championship. Anyone who holds it for a good length of time will look a lot stronger. (Perhaps bring back the old WWF Hardcore Championship 24/7 rule :sarcasm: )

Will the Friday Fight Night be televised, is it taking over from Xplosion, or something else?

Like both decisions actually.

If they're going to defend the TV title every week they might as well make it mean something, but the belt on AJ.

I think what it means is that one Impact a month will be Open Fight Night. Nothing being added, just random chaos and a surprise wrestler every few weeks I assume.

Yeah, it'll just be a standard episode of Impact. We'll see a few grudge matches to further feuds, maybe a few feud starters, and at least a match an episode featuring a 'new' wrestler.

Might be a good way for the company to trial some of the bigger indy names. Would love to see a Davey Richards, Michael Elgin, Timothy Donst, or Johnny Gargano get a chance to shine against an Aries, Styles, or Joe.

TNA's going PG-13.

Given a large demographic of their core audience is disenfranchised Attitude Era fans this could see their ratings bottom out even lower.

You're already looking like WWE lite, this move will just confirm it.
