Who's getting over working with Sonjay?

He's a veteran who provides the company with a good hand to work with new talent, but he's not the guy who gets others over.

I wish they'd just adopt the WCW formula for their undercard - good workers working good matches while the top guys tread water doing story lines and drawing the crowds.

They are doing WCW storylines at the top, the world revolves around Hogan and Sting. I have no problem with Hogan being the authority figure or Sting still wrestling week to week, but neither of them should be the main focus of the company. It is 2013, not 1997.

Agree 100%. Especially when the guys that could be at the top (Styles, Storm, Roode, Aries) are arguably better overall workers than the crap the WWE forces on us.

The problem with the WCW formula is that it labelled certain guys as curtain jerkers, or cruiserweights and they struggled to break out of that mould. Of course apart of that could be blamed on backstage politics, but that structure was certainly a factor.

I like how Abyss somehow got the win in the 6 man tag despite 1) Not being involved in the match to start with, and 2) Never tagging in to the match anyway.

He was the mystery partner so I haven't got a problem there. The no tag part was suss, but that's wrestling. Sounds like you watched Bully Rays post match interview.

What the hell was up with Impact last weekend? Not so much the show, because I have no idea what happened there, but halfway through the show on FuelTV on the IQ taping, it switches to friggen surfing. WTF was up with that?

I can't stand how Fuel schedules Impact! on a Saturday night and can't seem to catch any of their replays. In the end, I'm better off just watching it online.

Wrestling on Australian TV has been the pits since Raw moved off of FoxSports though for mine.

Could be worse. We could go back to the days when we had a two week delay on Raw, no Smackdown, and live PPV. You had to spend two weeks after a PPV you paid for watching the build up to it.

When was that Mis? Sounds terrible.

I remember around 2001 and on it was only delayed by a few hours so it was worth skipping out on spoilers and going in with fresh eyes.

Nowadays with the current time slot, streams etc. it isn't really worth it. The only benefit Australian wrestling fans have is that NXT & Superstars is on television and we get Smackdown before the Yanks.

Late 90s to maybe 2000 or so? I remember watching RAW on a Wednesday afternoon on Fox Sports, buying the PPV, and then watching two weeks worth of stuff that didn't matter. That's what introduced me to spoiler sites

WCW used to air on Saturday nights - so it was less than a week delayed.

I just record the 4am replay to avoid crap like that happening.

So let me see this Slammiversary Card...

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Sting vs. Bully Ray (c)

If Sting loses, he can no longer challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship again.

Well, good? Does that title really mean so much to a 50+ year old guy? I know it's the crown jewel of his new home and all but gee there are worse things that can happen to Sting.

I'm sure this will be a solid sports entertainment-y brawl.

Not really a MotY contender, but one of those matches that needs to happen given the build.

AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle

Gee, how many times have we seen this match? I'm sure people will love it but I've never been a fan of Angle's style of match and despite AJ doing his best Sting impression I don't see how this edition will be anything beyond their previous 10 or so matches.

TNA Four Way Tag Team Elimination Championship Match
James Storm & a Mystery Partner vs. Bad Influence vs. Bobby Roode and Austin Aries vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez (c)

This should be fun.

Any word on who Storm's partner will be?

TNA TV Championship Match
Joseph Parks vs. Devon (c)

Hopefully we get our pay off of this whole Parks angle. It's been a fun ride - much better than it had any right to be but it's time to move on. Devon as a TV Champion has been an after-thought so hopefully Parks wins and the likes of Wes Brisco and such get involved.

TNA X Division Championship Ultimate X Match
Chris Sabin vs. TBA vs. Kenny King (c)

Haven't been a fan of Sabin waltzing straight into championship calculations and really don't like them making a stip. match right away. Hopefully Sabin just gets through the match.

Taryn Terrell vs. Gail Kim

I said it once, I'll say it again, why is TNA pushing Terrell for?! For a company that actually cares about their women's division, TNA sure does a terrible job picking who receives the spotlight.

The tag title match, X-Division match, Angle/Styles match, and women's match were all good. Some are saying one of the best mainstream women's matches in a long while.

I suspect if you get around to watching this match that you will have a change of heart on Terrell. Took some pretty rough bumps, she is no Kelly Kelly.

This was one of the best womens matches I have seen.

Seconded. Looking forward to their upcoming ladder match for the title. Not sure if I've ever seen a women's ladder match before.
