Today I am going to Parra ground to see the clash between Eels and Penrith. I have an open mind - our team may loose or win but one thing I can say about them that those 16 players are very brave and tough to meet any challenge. They give their best effort day in and day out and I am happy about that. Some of the days they falter we all do. Everyday in our office is not the same we all make mistake. I feel proud when I see blue and gold army on the field it is a feeling I guess cannot express in words. I am proud that I am EELS supporter not because of our great history our club carries but they way they perform day in and day out in spite of ref bad decision, poor media coverage.
About our coach, Bryan Smith I do not believe that a coach is not performing intentionally as the way media puts out. I read the interview with Bryan Smith and I feel we are too hasty to judge him. Every year we are churning players after players who join other clubs and they are successful. It is true Salary cap has hit us big time.
Let's take a hypothetical situation... if we had retained the same team, as 2001 do you think our performance would have been like this. Personally I do not think so. We have lots of good players in fact one of our ex-player is a captain for a team. We have produced players like PJ marsh, Himdmarsh brothers, Hogdson, WIllie Tonga. There are clubs in NRL who can go around the salary cap
I would like to see how the team like Roosters, dogs perform this time.
I have changed my attitude toward the game. I started ignoring media because I feel they are very much politicised. At the end of the day no players wants to loose. That is the fact. We have a new team and I think we need sometime to develop a style. If we can reach that height in 2001 we can do that again. If the players we have stay for another 2 years we can achieve what we have set to achieve.
Lastly, we do not have players who will back us in media or other place. I would expect legends like Peter Sterling, Kenny to come forward and take an active role in our club. I think our club is one of the greatest clubs and I am proud of it and so lots of people around.
I know it is not far that we will rule the comp... For time being I would request fan to have patience.
Thank you.

Everyone says that.

They're all disappointed because Sterlo doesn't support us in public.

People, he's a journalist. And a very good one at that, because he remains impartial.

I am 100% sure that, deep down inside his heart, nobody is happier than him when we do well.

Yeah that is so true!

Sometimes, when talking about Parra, he says 'we'. That is so awesome.

And he clearly does love it when we go well.

I hope we do REALLY well tonight - enough to prove that we've turned the corner.

Because then the true Sterlo will reveal himself and confirm what you and I have been saying all along - Sterlo has Blue and Gold in his soul.

I remember turning up in 2001 to the Leagues club the morning after we beat Canterbury,

Rabbits Turned up to do dead set legands live from the leagues club. When he got to his seat, he remained standing and said "GOD I LOVE BEATING CANTERBURY"

Then Russell bought it up with him during the show and he said. "I think Sterlo and I consumated our love for Parramatta when Vealieki got the ball and scored that last try, we were hugging each other and jumping up and down, it was a great win"

Speaking of Sterlo, does anyone listen to Talkin Sport of an arvo.?

A bloke rang up saying you should have to play state of Origin for the state you were born in!

Jimmy Smith (former Souths, Easts and Salford (i think) player), said "then Sterlo wouldnt have been able to play as he was born in New Zealand and moved here when he was one"

I nearly drove off the side of the rode at this point!

When they came back from an add he corrected himself and said "Sterlo was of course born in Towoomba, ( i am thinking he has this worked out now) before he moved to Raymond Terrace"

#-o

He moved where!!!!!

I think he has "Raymod Terrace" and "The Riverina" mixed up... unless i am mistaken....

Rabs is a dyed in the wool parra supporter. At least he has the good sense to keep his parocialism to himself and provide excellent unbiased coverage of the game, unlike Gus and Fatty.

Nope. Born in Toowoomba, moved to Raymond Terrace then out to Wagga before coming back to Fairfield Pats when he was signed by the Eels....

Yeah Rabs is an Eels man,

He doesn't much care for Fitzy, I remember drinking with Board of Directors after a Birsbane game. He asked OVO were the Iotla was, Alan Replied, Dennis is meeting with the Broncos executive at the moment mate.

Rabs is Old School Parramatta, his son even played for us but when he was droped there was a fued between Fitzy and Rabbits, but Rabbits has never let it effect his work.

Also Russell was Russell Barwick from 2MMM

the 86 decider gave rabs away as an eels fan.

Other TV broadcasters had the right from 87....either that or he had been replaced I cant remember now.

but you can hear the genuine joy in his voice when we won.
