Too all the ignorant knockers my point of view is we dont have the cattle in certain positions but the coach and recruiting staff are doing their utmost to sign the players required. We currently have to many backrowers of similar style we dont have one who punches through the line consistantly.We dont have a backup hooker and the one we have is only just starting to hit his straps. In the backline we have three young developing players who are lucky to have 30 nrl games between them. My point is it would not matter if we had Bennet ,Stuart ,Taylor or who ever we still have the poorest roster in the comp. Add to that we lack some real intimidation in the pack.I want Coach Kearney to be given his full term and i am sure within 2 seasons we will be challenging for a title.
While there may be some truth to what you say regarding the playing roster having its weaknesses and you are definitely entitled to your opinion, calling those of us who disagree with you "ignorant knockers" is a little unfair. I think the problem is the coach and I honestly believe we would not be going anywhere near as badly as we are under a better coach.
Like all of us here, I want success for the Eels. I want long term success. I am even prepared to wait for it BUT - in
my opinion - it is not going to happen under Kearney. If I were to sign a contract with a company and promise them certain results within say a
5 year period, do you think my employers would sit back, ignore the losses and wait until the 5 years has elapsed to do a review? Of course not! They would want
progress reports along the way. I see no
progress under Stephen Kearney. It is true that Des Hasler took 5 seasons to get the Sea Eagles a title but they
improved every year. You could
see the progress every season. It was not all behind the scenes, hidden from "ignorant knockers".
