Utter garbage. Players love a good atmosphere and respond to a passionate crowd. Yesterday's turnout was pathetic. If the kiwi population of claymore hadn't descended on the ground it would have been sub 10k. For a team that, although not playing great, was still 6th before the game. The fans out there have shown they couldn't really give a flying whereas the fans turn up at Leichhardt and apart from the abberation against Manly when god decided to break a 5 year drought with a Noah's Ark type storm we have been virtually unbeatable there.
The only utter garbage is the tripe emanating from your mouth.
How do you justifyMelbourne's near faultless season this year despite having the 4th smallest crowd average for the season?
And compare that with the fact that last placed Penrith have bigger crowds on average than almost half the competition?
And how do you explain the fact that Souths draw larger crowds than 2nd placed Manly?
And how about the fact Brisbane have been very ordinary for the majority of the season thus far, yet have the largest average attendances?
You can't explain it. Why? Because it's bullsh*t.
If players came from and played their careers with the team in their area, building up loyalty and sense of community amongst the sides, as it was 30 years ago, then you'd have a point.
Fact is, Home ground advantage is an antiquated term which only applies to a very small minority of teams nowadays.
It's even harder to have any form of home ground advantage when you've had a ton of home grounds in the past few seasons.
The crowd (or lack of) has absolutely minimal impact on our teams performance.
