He got away with murder and thought he could continue to do so. Canberra sent him the wrong message because there were short term benefits for Canberra. He seemed to actually believe he could reject councilling and get away with it! Where did he get that idea?

How about the fact Carney is the one walking into oblivion as he betrayed the Raiders and all the work the club and their sponsors put into keeping him out of trouble and on the field. FMD, if you're so worried about it why don't you start up some sort of charity service to look after these poor misguided footy players who don't know how to handle adulthood and million dollar contracts?

a few things to come from this

1. Todd Carney is a f**king idiot and should be playing out of Goulburn supermax next season, he's a f**king disgrace and a waste of talent

2. Canberra did everything in thier power to curb his behaviour. Drinking bans, playing bans, coucilling, they kept him out of jail on 2 seperate occasions, rehabilitation plans all that jazz, but ultimately you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink... Todd Carney's decisions are his own and the club can not be held accountable for his stupidity
