Ahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Toddy, to get sacked you just had to get hammered. More often. But actually setting someone on fire????

Brilliant!

I am gobsmacked...

Give the little merkin a f**king stint in the big house to sort him out. Gallop has to step in, show some leadership and ban him FOR LIFE after this!

If true he passes Nate Myles and Julian O'Neill as the most random off field f*ck-up. 4 days into the new year, and he's probably going to be sacked. Anyone got a link to it yet?

Julian O'Neill tried to set a kid in a dolphin suit on fire, so Todd was just paying homage to the man who had more clubs than hot dinners. Maybe a congratulatory SMS is in order.

No charges have been laid, so seems like just an innocent prank amongst mates.

NRL player 'lit man's genitals on fire'

NRL's notorious bad boy Todd Carney and a friend are accused of burning a man's buttocks, scrotum and upper thigh, after deliberately setting his pants on fire, the Seven Network reports.

The newly-signed Sydney Roosters footballer had been holidaying with mates at Airlie Beach in north Queensland when the alleged incident occurred.

Proserpine Hospital confirmed a man was admitted for burns on New Year's Day.

Queensland Police have also confirmed the injuries, but say they will only investigate if the victim makes a formal complaint.

There's no suggestion the attack was malicious but Carney has an infamous past.

The 23-year-old former Canberra Raiders player has been convicted for drink-driving, arrested after a high-speed police chase, charged with malicious damage, accused of urinating on a man at a Canberra nightclub, and even been banned from his home town of Goulburn.

The Raiders sacked him, and just as it looked like his career could be all but over, the Roosters offered him a lifeline.

Carney is due to take the field in the next few weeks, pending the result of an inquiry now underway at the club.

9 said it was a friend who got burned, and it was from a prank going wrong. probably tried to light a fart or something.

My cousin in Sydney just sms'd me and said they are blaming it on his mate as a "prank gone wrong". Sounds like the spin doctors going in to damage control!

So much for Todd Carney having learnt from the past and being keen to make a new start.

Who thinks it's funny to set their mates on fire?

I bet the NRL does nothing.

While Bird plays for the titans.

Conspiracy!

The man in question will have a nice pay day courtesy of N.Politis and the Roosters, no charges will be laid, the NRL will do nothing and everyone will get on with things... until he gets on the piss again and does something stupid... again
or they'll blame his mate and say todd had nothing to do with it

the DC boys at the roosters will have this all cleared up before the aussies are back into bat tomorrow... but eventually he's going to do something that they cant buy their way out of.
