After reading the Canberra times article it is pretty clear to me that the Raiders are over Carney completely and only reacted because of the bad light Carney tried to place them in, that they were somehow carrying on without appropriate consideration to his wlfare etc.
It is no coincidence that this article comes out when Carney is pushing his own Origin barrell with Gould directing him from the background. Trying to somehow lessen the gravity of what he did and what he was willing to throw away to keep living life how he wanted.
Carney playing Origin is no cinderella story or tale of redemption waiting to happen. He is an A grade tool and that has not changed. Sure without the alcohol his foul mouthed tirades against members of the public are said with hushed tones and not yelled across a bar but the same Carney still exists. The Todd Carney who, exactly like his father, was a pompous, self righteous arse with or without grog in his system. The alcohol just makes it louder
