Todd Carney

With the Catalans withdrawing their support, Todd is on shaky ground.

He was never going to get his contract ratified by the NRL after suing the Sharks. The NRL wouldn't stand for that and Todd Greenberg is no fan of Carney's.

That leaves French Union (no one there is desperate enough) or a Super League / Championship team
He might end up at Hull KR or London in the Championship on small change. It'll be all he deserves.

Maybe Salford would sign him. They have Robert Lui don't they? Other than them, I can't think of many Super League teams who would take the punt. Wakefield? Castleford? Newly promoted Leigh?

His career is effectively over because he couldn't be arsed to put in. What a waste of an amazing talent.

I just hope his set himself up and been sensible with his money because I can't see him being a coach and I can't see him making it in media so hopefully he has some coin in the bank.

When the Sharks conceded the try that put the Storm in front. The player that made sure that the team didn't drop it's bundle was James Maloney.

Apparently told the team "If you thought the GF was totally going to go all our own way then you thought wrong. We have 15 minutes to get the lead back now let's go get them."

Or something to that effect.

Sort of a sport's version of:-"We will fight them on the beaches,we will fight them in the fields,in the cities, but we will never surrender until final victory is ours."

James Maloney> Winston Churchill.
I want BBQs too be nominated for a knighthood .

You could see Leigh taking a punt. Just cause they would like to stay up. The others, no chance.

Carney should have been permanently deregistered in 08. He should never have been allowed back to play for the Roosters, and then the Sharks.

I highly doubt he has much in the bank, and I predict he'll be dead or in jail in 10 years.

With Todd Carney being released by Catalans with two years to go on his contract plus Saints putting the red line through him, it looks like his career is over. What a complete waste of talent.

Wrong. Todd Carney has said that the NRL won't register him until his legal case with the Sharks has been dealt with, this is a case of people jumping to conclusions without getting all the facts. But it's unclear if Carney loses the case whether the NRL will register his contract. It's been viewed that a Carney win would certainly open the way for him to be playing next season.

I'll fight the merkin
he can have all the money too.
I'll punch him in the mouth he uses to drink his own piss with.
i'd pay to watch you belt him

as for the catalans thing, someone on reddit from france said carney and a few of the other aussies used to trash pubs and stuff because they were relatively anonymous over there.... given two aussies were sent packing you can surmise who he was talking about

It was a taylor made environment over there for their behaviour.

I hope Sandow gives him a deserved flogging. His career is over, unless a stupid club like Parra or St George sign him. To injury prone and not a winner.

I'd like to know all the reasons Catalan sacked him too. Even though everyone knows he's a repeat offender it may show it was even more so justified (the Sharks sacking).

Apart from his poor form, when he was not injured, Carney was found drunk and asleep on a motor roundabout in Perpignan, alongside Dave Taylor. It was the last straw for Catalans after a bout of off field incidents. Both players were released despite unfinished contracts. At least Taylor, unlike Carney, had played most Catalans games and was in good form. But the French club won't put up with imbecilic public drunken behaviour that brings the club into disrepute -- in a city where they are in hot competition with the local rugby union club for public support..

He's blown it all, that's why he's trying to get the sharks to pay all of his contract out after numerous indescretions....mark my words!

Todd Carney has set up a business partnership in Bali called Carney's Pies. One of his pies is called Chilli Con Carney. If he makes a living out of that he will be lucky. But he has destroyed his rugby league career -- Catalans had generously given him his last chance which he blew away -- so he has few other options.

Are you serious? A pie company? Where did you hear that?
