sorry Reddy but you have been overtaken AGAIN.

Lowrie just doesn't have any place IMO, Hauraki should start with Paulo,Fui and Robo comming in off the bench.

The way Reddy hit the hole shows he is a class player. When Inu is back it will be Tautai to go and Reddy to shift to centre..

tbh I reckon Lowrie's defense was VERY solid last night .... he's a very good one on one defender which helps everyone else out in defence cos they don't have to cover his arse and commit too many ppl to the tackle

he simply didn't get much time last night- and he's not some superstar playmaker with a fancy step you have to be to get ppl drooling over you on this forum full of knockers - just accept him for what he is in this team

yeah he'll go back to wenty when chad returns - and yeah i reckon I'd prefer Paulo had been on the bench instead last night ..... infact I think the fact that Lowrie got hardly any minutes and replaced Feleti showed Hages made a bad call with him on the bench - who is Tood a good swap for? a worker - which means he can only replace a backrower, either Hindy or Wags last night and you wouldn't take Hindy off ..... I think it was dodgy to replace Feleti, but maybe hages wanted to give him a breather before the final part of the game???

The way his opponent hits the hole he's supposedly guarding also shows something about him...
Topped the missed tackle count again and has the most misses for the year.

He had 1 tackle break compared to TT's 10, had 1 'partial tackle break' compared to TT's 14.
He made 34m compared to TT's 143m

You're pulling at straws to try and find a 'class' in Reddy that TT doesn't have!!!

Hagan is just going for experience at this stage - guys that have something to offer in the tackling department are better than untried youngsters in the first few rounds.

So with Robbo out injured and half the team suspended for drinking binges, Lowrie got a sniff, made the most of it with 27 tackles in each of the first 2 games. But now Mateo is back in the pack, Lowrie is totally expendable (for Paulo or even Gulavao) and when Robinson comes back you'd think there's basically no chance of Lowrie (or Wags) hanging on to a spot!

Wags will be one of the first picked, very solid last night.

Was that in the 2 hitups he took?

Or was it the 3 other times he TOUCHED the ball in attack?

OR the 19 tackles that he made....

"Solid" doesn't cut it when there are other players who put their hands up to do the hard work and cart the ball forward (isn't that why they're called FORWARDS).
The only thing Wagon does well is run decoys - but nobody falls for them because nobody believes he'll actually get given the ball.

You do realise that almost 15% of his tackle attempts are 'ineffective' - which means that the player offloads on him and play continues.

I can't see how Ben Smith would provide LESS as a forward even though he hasn't played 1 game in the pack before...

We looked much less threatening with Mateo off, it effectively wasted an interchange because he then had to bring the kid back on.

The only explanation I could think of is that he wanted to stengthen the defence....in which case I would have taken tim off and shifted mateo to 5/8. It's by the by now though....

if thats the case he should have taken Grothe off not Timmy!!!

Your in for a long season then buddy because the Eels coaching staff who are a lot more qualified then us two experts will pick him in every game if he is not injured. Reason being he is tough, runs great angles, hits as hard as anyone in the pack and mainly because the rest of the players want to play along side him.

PS I love your 15% stat, I will watch the game again and count those tackles.

I think Lowrie has blown his last chance to keep a 1st grade spot. He was solid, but so is Chad Robinson, Weller Hauraki and Ben Smith. He will be gone and wont be back until some more injuries occur.

For sure. I thought Tim looked good in defence when he wasn't giving away penalties for offside (was a bit tired by the second half). Stats have him making 14 tackles and only missing 1... can't say I remember seeing the one he missed.
