I do have something constructive to say. I'm bringing to light what this grub did and the light slap on the wrist he got for it. Someone spray painted graffiti on the war memorial and it was front page news. This guy, who is leading your U20's, pisses on it and it is barely mentioned.

Gaz was vilified and lost his spot in the NSW team. He paid the price.
What price has Payten paid?

By the way, I've never done anything that I want to quickly forget, drunk or sober. Maybe that's a common occurrence in your neck of the woods, but not mine.

Who said I wasn't angry, you f**kwit?

Then what have you done about it, other than insult people who bring it to light? Half your supporters don't even know this happened!
Have you written to your club? Or have you just ignored it because you don't care what he did...?

In reality Todd Payten has paid a price. He was detained by police and issued with a court attendance notice. He appeared in court and was subject to the penalty issued by the presiding magistrate. Whether that was sufficient is irrelevant, he was punished by the laws of this land, not the laws as seen fit to be doled out by posters to this forum (which seems to be non Tiger supporters seeking some form of revenge).

I think what he did was certainly wrong and certainly in very bad taste but to say he was not punished is clearly wrong and in a roundabout way he has set an example to the 20’s...you f@#$ up and you go to court and face the humiliation for what you do…

Well said

To get respect you must earn it. What I've seen from the Tigers club in the last year they have lost my respect, which is sad cause I used to think the Tigers were a decent club. Success at any price now it seems.
You can try and sugar coat it all you want, I don't really care. Deep down you know the slippery slope your club is on is disgraceful.

The actions of your club, from the Lui saga TWICE, the moltzen saga, and now Payten (which happened BEFORE the moltzen saga), makes it TYPICAL.

My problem with this is that it has been swept under the rug, and most of you people here couldn't care less about Payten's actions. If you don't understand that, don't bother responding. You can't sit there and try to convince me this was nothing.

So why did the club sack Robert Lui, but did nothing about Todd Payten? The difference between them is Payten was found GUILTY!

Double standards is what you are reading here from Tigers supporters. Stop pretending it isn't.

Dude iv'e prepared many Social Impact Assessments due to my line of work and i can promise you alcohol fueled incidents and anti social behaviour due to alcohol dont differ much in densly populated suburbs around Sydney. They only start to increase as a person per capita figure as you go city centre (lets say Sydney City, Parramatta, Wollongong etc) due to the location of popular nightspots, concerts etc.

So what occurs in my neck of the woods also occurs in yours, that leaves me with one conclusion, if you've never done anything embarassing while intoxicated you need to get out more.

Try it some time, live a little a champ.

It isn't double standards with Payten and Lui.

Payten plead guilty because in the light of day he was genuinely sorry for what he did. This is his right, everyone get the choice to plead guilty or not guilty. He was therefore punished according to the law, he didn't try to hide behind anything cultural or whatever.

He did the wrong thing and said so. He got punished for what he did and don't forget it was Todd Payten appearing in court, not the Wests Tigers. I could probably cite quite a few ex players that have appeared before a court for various offences. Whether the penalty was enough doesn't matter.

Lui on the other hand has plead not guilty as he is entitled to do. We can have this conversation if and when his case is finished. Having said that though he wasn't sacked in the true sense of the word and while we can play semantics he was a current player and the club acted in a way they saw fit. Do you think they did the wrong thing knowing what has been disclosed by way of public record?

Do you not think the club will be reassessing Paytens position?

Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys also released a statement saying: "Todd is aware that he will receive his share of public humiliation for this but it is important to recognise that he has admitted his wrongdoing."

Typical rubbish from the Tigers. All they do is issue statements that mean nothing. If he punched a nun then admitted he was wrong, Humphries would issue the exact same statement.

Wake up to yourself. He desecrated a war memorial. No matter how drunk you are, there is absolutely no way you will bypass the 100 trees in Hyde Park, walk to the middle (which is not a short walk), then piss on the memorial. It's disgraceful and his response is a joke to every digger that defended this country. Let me guess, you're gonna try and defend him yeah? Hang your head in shame.
Who's this dickhead?

It wasn't swept under the carpet. The club released a statement and the only reason some didnt know about it was because its the off season.

But thanks for frothing at the mouth anyway, it's amusing.

Your captan Michael Beattie was arrested for illegal fire arms possession.

Guns kill people, pissing on a wall / war memorial although wrong and disrespectful does not compare to illegal fire arm trafficking.

So run along you hypocritical moronic fool.

Do not think for a minute that you or any other of your ankle grabbing supporters can come in here and rubbish one of our best.

So go and tuck yourself into your bottom drawer and continue nuzzling on your own private parts.

Moron, hypocrite and just a plain tool.

And who was the ringleader of that illegal firearms racket, bubbles? And who did he play for?

Not my concern FB, we all know it was Johnny Elias.

However just putting 40Twenty in his place, just like drowning a cat in a hession sack.

What are you saying FB, that Beattie had no part, he just followed the instructions of that naughty man John Elias.

I hate hypocritical fools, not you FB, but that moronic thread starter.

My neck of the woods means the people I associate with don't have alcohol as a focal point in their life. Sadly Australia culture is all about alcohol and getting fked up.

I don't need alcohol/drugs to enjoy life champ. you should try it some time.

You just explained it perfectly. The club dealt with it the way "they saw fit". Payten pleaded guilty because he had no choice. What was he gonna do, say it wasn't his p!ss?
Lui has denied any wrongdoing. whether or not it is true is still to be decided. My point here is the double standards and low ethics of the Tigers management. And you'd have to look pretty hard to find a case in rugby league that is worse than Payten p!ssing on a war memorial.
