That's pathetic, what is the point in this other than to highlight the fact that they are excluding players?

Is that list basically everyone eligible?

Yes Pom, that is what it looks like. I wondered if the USARL was planing on doing anything about their players not being selected?

Their seems to be a bit of give up, by the players that are going back to the AMNRL.

C'mon fellas don't you think that when the USARL broke away that they didn't consider this being an issue. Full credit to those blokes but 1 season on the books doesn't give you free reign on what has taken years of toil to be put in place.

No, totally disagree. There are players and coaches on those "BREAK AWAY" clubs that made the Tomahawks what they are today. And for Nui to treat his Tomahawk players like that is whats the most disrespectful thing of this whole deal.

Whats the point of this squad? What if a young American playing for one of the domestic clubs comes through and takes to the game like a duck to water??

Has a domestic 2012 game even been played in the USA yet??

If Niu was that desperate to continue his 'WC 2013' media drive, why didn't he just name the players that played in the Qualifiers, any new overseas players that came out of the woodwork and then add players month by month that are performing well domestically

Its not unusual to list a large player pool; I think he's just trying to show that he is in full control of the Tomahawks and can select and exclude whom he wants. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the situation in the US, for now, that's his right as the owner of the Tomahawks.

Here's my opinion on the 2012 matches. The Donneybrook Cup squad against Ireland in March will be made up of mainly mainland US players with a few Hawaiians, and the Japan match will be made up a a few mainland US players and a ton of Hawaiians.

I seriously doubt the WC squad will be made up of a majority of US players currently in the comp. David is not stupid, he's going to put the best team on the pitch that has the best opportunity to advance.

Still its a huge injustice that he doesn't even acknowledge the USARL and the talent it posseses. Oh well, to each his own...

He's not the 'owner' of the Tomahawks, the Tomahawks is supposed to be a national team. I'm absolutely disgusted that the RLIF continue to stand idly by while this injustice continues.

What type of an answer is that. We'll be trying hard. The guy has no intensions of selecting from the USARL.At least the USARL are a democratic outfit and not a one man band.

Actually, he does own the Tomahawks. I've heard him several times refer to it as his league and his team. Agree that it "should" be a natioanl team but we all know that is not the case.

Regardless, the USARL will be here for 2012 and beyond.

In that case then the Tomahawks should be removed from all future international competition and a genuine USA national team should be set up to take their place in the World Cup.

Well that says all that is wrong about the sport in the USA then. Sport does not belong to anyone, if I were to start my own team and league independent of the USARL and AMNRL what can he do? He does not own the sport, he can;t stop people from playing the sport as they see fit.

Never going to happen. If the RILF hasn't stepped in now they aren't going to. It looks like your typical, Its not who ya know its who ya blow. But they probably now people to.

But an owned team cant be a USA NATIONAL TEAM.

Wikipedia definition:

The United States national rugby league team, nicknamed the Tomahawks, represents the United States in international rugby league football competitions. The team is controlled by the American National Rugby League (AMNRL) and is overseen by the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF).

So my question is how can it represent the United States, but discriminate against United States players? Can any of the AMNRL people that read this forum respond? Mr Knight?

If playing for the Tomahawks was truly a National team then they could have a law suit on their hands for discrimination. Under the Ted Stevens act. But I'm sure the AMNRL lawyers (BOWBOW) know that.

Just saying
