Brent kite is the Tongan captain so will have a front row spot.
I was just going off the players listed so far.

As usual, they seem really strong in the forwards but weak in the halves which may end up costing them. Really looking forward to all the matches in Group C.

Siliva Havili is a certainty as hooker or bench hooker.

As a smokey - Tevita Latu (yes that bloke who punched a woman in the face)
Is killing in New Zealand - he lead his team to Auckland Championship and playing rep local league.

I would pick the bloke if I was them.
Be perfect in the 24. Covers half, hooker and lock.

He applied to switch countries earlier in the year so can't be picked according to Steve mascord on twitter.

applying means nothing...hes gotta play for the other nation for it to be binding....

i saw a post by steve mascord yesterday where hes basically said hes quitting cos hes sick of the bullshit...

STOP PUTTING OUT BULLSHIT THEN STEVE...

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/7200042/Australia-gets-Origin-blame-from-top-official

For example, Warriors star Feleti Mateo could represent Tonga at next year's world cup even if he achieves his ambition of playing for New South Wales. It's only once he plays for the Kangaroos that he would then be ineligible.

"The reality is that Feleti has played for Tonga and he remains, at this stage, a Tongan international as long as he doesn't play an international for any other country that he qualifies for," Carter said.

Mateo, 28, opted to switch allegiance to Australia earlier in the year in a bid to earn selection for New South Wales.

He played in the annual "trial" match for the City team against Country in April but failed to sufficiently impress the selectors.

Mateo insists he still has a strong desire to play for his state. But with another world cup next year and the strong possibility he will continue to be overlooked by the Origin selectors, he would have no qualms about turning out for the Pacific nation again.

"I've always said Origin is about the best players playing. If they don't want to use me then I don't see any reason why I can't go and play for Tonga," Mateo said.

someone has done tonga good and proper.....feleti is still eligible for tonga...infact he'd still be eligible for tonga had he played for NSW........only playing for australia would stop him going back to tonga..

wtf is the sport coming to coming too when a lad sat at his laptop on a frigging forum knows more about laws than the f**king idiots in charge of the sport!!!!

How many if the Tongan squad have already indicated they'd prefer to play for NZ but will consider Tonga as an OK consolation prize?

they've started adding players to the train on squad 2 weeks ago....if hurrell was going to be selected by the kiwis surely he would have been added to the train on squad when all the warriors players got added...
