On the back of the australian and nz decision, and presuming nrl players can actually play in it, that opens up a number of players for other nations if they want to go.
Tonga could be big beneficiaries. Just look at their potential starting pack!

Fiji can have the likes of Tariq Sims, RCG, Daniel Saifiti & Apisai Koroisau plus Samoa with the likes of Payne Haas & other Soo Players so chances of a Pacific Team winning is high & if pools don't change & assuming a cross pool match between B & C we can most certainly see Fiji in the Finals. Question is whether Tonga, Samoa or England will make it

If the rumour about players being anti vax is true you can bet a bunch of this PI players wont be going.

That a bunch of players in the NZ squad are anti vax and wouldn't have the vax before travelling.

If I was the boss of NZRL I would have just instituted a no jab no play.
Yes that would have been an easy out for him.

If we get relatively full-strength Pacific squads this could be a really entertaining world cup.

Any combination of England, Samoa, Fiji, PNG and Tonga will make for mouth watering quarters, semis and a final. There can't be any asterisk talk about the winner either because Australia were beaten by Tonga last time they played and NZ didn't make the semis of the last world cup.

Bet the NRL clubs block all their players from going if the tournament gets the go ahead.
