Tonight I'm glad I'm a Dragons man...

I started following Saints exclusively in 1999. Went to a Dragons game & the Army was in full roar. They had me at ' Saint... '. Plus my brother threatened me with death.

Before then I was a St George, Raider, & Rooster fan.

Tallis, Ribot, the man and benny. A motly crew if ever I saw one. A murder of crows!

Benny's decade-long guilt trip would lead him to coach Saints years later!

Gee dave q, it must be so good to not have to ever deal with the heartache of losing prelim or grand finals. Or losing good players to other clubs.

i jumped on board 92/93. me and dad would go to our neighbours up the back and watch the grand finals on a big screen, and being only like 13 wasnt really big on any one team (dad was a rabbitohs man). theni was walking hmoe from school one day before the GF in 92 and saw this bloke had painted his whole roof yellow and maroon and white. from that day on i loathed the broncos and went for the dragons.

Followed the Dragons since '79, when I was 6. Was a dinosaur freak, and chose the Dragons based on the mascot. Local team was Souths, and I couldn't think of a sillier animal for a football team. Except for a chicken.

I believe I may be the curse, but I'm not changing teams, sorry.

My Dad always took us to Wests games so you got used to cheering for them at Pratten and then Lidcombe, but I was a Dragon at the '65 GF and never forgot it. I went to see a lot of games involving other teams, but from about 1970 Saints were the ones that had me for good.
I played against them, got injured by them, but have never stopped loving them, and luckily enough my son is following the same path.

started to really get into it after watching dad yell out for someone to "take those f*cking boots off & burn 'em!"

you could say that i started at the level that for the most part we have stayed for 33 years.

with only 2 glorious exceptions.

Newtown '77 & '78. Only made it to the reserves bench :alcho:, but got into trouble after sitting on the reggies bench against Saints in '78 after the U/23's and then going onto the hill and barracking for the Saints with my mates. I got in the sh*t at training the following Tues, because I was also at the leagues club with Lord Ted after the game.
I made the Northern Territory sides in '84 and '85 for the games against WA. Bruce Maguire (Dogs/Tigers) was my second row partner in 84.

I'll bet that night with Ted was a good one.

A Saints fan is a different breed to a Bulldog fan, all the Bulldog supporters i know are arrogant and opinionated loud people, all the Dragon fans i know are humble and at times vocal but supress their opinions to nothing more than a discussion to proove there point.

A dog fan often big notes there team beyond the status of jesus and reflect on the glory days of Lamb and Co to fight any who has the bigger penis discussion and a dragons fan only touches base with the glory days as a final F/U.

This isn't how all these fans are but from my experiences with the blue and white breed it shows me that alot are the same..

Spot on Macarthur, but also deluded believing every player on the makrket will go play for them and they become better players to ha ha
