you didn't see Crocker's hand on the ball during that tackle? I love it when a ref misses him doing that for Melbourne but for QLD sorry don't like the tactic.

not when it's a Maroon Jersey he's wearing, mostly Navy Blue love it but Maroon and that wasn't the only cringeworthy thing he did tonight no matter what jersey he's wearing I hate it when hate it when he puts those kinds of hits on Brett Stewart.

what is it with referees not blowing penalities in origin games. if he had given 2-3 penalities at the start it would have made the game so much better to watch. origin games over the last few years have been ordinary cause theyre so slow. we need a ref like harragon again who wasnt scared to give penalties or tell the players what to do

yeah we do, Archer isn't of this standard maybe a couple of more years under Harrigan he could be.

he was reasonably even for both teams, however he let both teams hold players down in the ruck for way too f**king long.
I 100% totally agree. Very frustrating to watch. It's Origin ffs, can't allow the players lie all over the play the ball.
He was consistent though

he obviously wanted the game to flow but at what cost ?

I notice forward passes are now legal too, when did this rule change ?

it hasn't, we need a ref that's up to that standard and it's not Archer unfortunately one of the ones left retired last year.

Lotti......go and jam a cactus down your throat.
You are a f**king spastic of a person.
You make Timmah appear smart....not an easy thing to do.

he was pretty crap, equally crap for both teams mind you and i dont think he affected the ooutcome of the game but he affected it as a spectacle.

amazing how quick some of those markers were in dragging down the dummy half a millisecond after they touched the ball :sarcasm:

Origin for some reason has this new aura where penalties just can't be blown, the game was at times terrible as play the ball speeds were damn slow, NSW did a great job of dominating the tackler but carried on way to long, both teams did it because they were allowed to, ph and don't mention the forward passes, what about the first one from the Blues that wasn't called! Bring back some penalties in Origin, ref's are too scarred to piss anybody off on the big night.

I thought Archer did a more than reasonable job, which didn't effect the outcome of the game, which of course is the main thing.

Sure, a couple of forward passes, (where were the touch judges) and the 10 a bit thin, but overall a good game.

We should see him in Origin 2 hopefully.

He had a good enough game. I still can't work out what the greg bird penalty was for tho.

aprt from the laying in the tackle, markers leaving b4 the ball was even played in some cases, forward passes, head high tackles - yeah he didn't do that badly :S

I know as a Storm fan I feel very comfortable when Tony Archer is controlling our games.
