Toopi is the perfect option - hes won games in the past for us

For who?

Please point me to one occasion where Toopi "won a game" for either the Kiwis or the Warriors.

That's just a ridiculous statement in general really, but maybe if you were talking about Stacey Jones or Andrew Johns or Wally Lewis you might talk about winning a game single-handed.....but Clinton Toopi.......fmd

the guys scored 2 hattricks against australia.... thats says something about the guy when hes on...

i agree though... he really shouldnt be there. id rather move mannering to centre then have toopi near the kiwis.

I've known Toopi since he was playing Fox Memorial as a teenager in the Fox for Otahuhu years ago. I've always thought that he was a chicken brain that could do great things at times, but would unexplainably do bizarre and idiotic things at other times.

I was glad that he was shafted from the Warriors as his attention span could only amount to his manufacturing his hairstyle.

But, for some reason and I'm not sure why, maybe I'm subconsciously thinking that Toopi in a black jersey is not really that bad as Toopi in a black and grey jersey or a blue and red jersey.

Why isnt Stanley getting a run?

If hes there to be developed...lets get developing then!

Why isnt stanley getting a run?? because he is only taken over for the experience and he'll get a game against france.

Remember he is a school boy - and only played NRL this year because of a number of injuries at the dragz.

U guys call for these youngster like their the answer. Inu might have been thrown into international footy but he had been groomed for it longer NZ a and a few years in premier league.

As for Toopi - dont know why you guys are complaining that much:

Whatuira has been totally sh*thouse all year - he improved slightly in the last game, Mannering is only a droid who can plays 80 minutes and make most of his tackles but offers nothing in attack. Maybe thats why hohaia back movement stopped because they seen that brickwall.

Wouldnt of minded if SKD played but not ready for a test jersey - remember cooper vuna has shown similar attacking ability and likewise Skd has shown his immaturity in the NRL. Perhaps a year full of NRL and he'll be ready - he certainly has the drive and determination.

Kiwis played best when they played that adlib - polynesian style football towards the end of the first half and the start of the second. Toopi was co-inventor of that style of football.
It was really a no-brainer?? even haters like TH I thought you would understand the move to bring toopi into the side. I would even have him on the wing. Its not like Tupou or Tuiaki got involved.

It means he got on the end of exactly 6 good moves over the course of 2 games. On both occasions the Kiwis totally outplayed the Aussies and scored a sh*tload of points and Toopi was a beneficiary.

In truth he was nowhere near man of the match on either occasion.

MMM, I think we are doomed to clash forever more if you are, as it appears, a fan of both Toopi and Hohaia.

That's absolute nonsense

Toopi has an exceptionally low skill level for a first grade footballer, that's why I'm against him playing. This is a guy who played 3 or 4 years in first grade and then admitted (this came from his own mouth) that he didn't know how to pass to his right. Someone like Lauiti'iti, there's an example of a guy who (a) had great physical gifts (speed, size, strength) and natural ball skills. Toopi has the physical attributes of chicken legs, getting smashed all the time, being relatively slow for a centre, and having no ball skills at all.

btw I'm sorry everyone, I know I repeat myself a lot on this subject

I see a talentless spastic, other people see a pro-rugby league player, what can I do.

well I respect your right to criticise him - but remember its not use unless you do so in comparison to other options for the kiwis.

U criticised me for favouring T.L and Hohaia earlier this year - but I knew all along that jeremy smith was a fraud.

As for Toopi - adlib footy = instinctual play = that defines toopi as a footballer.

Getting smashed all the time:sarcasm: - he gives as much as he gets and that to say the least.

All i know he is going to give it to these pommy gittz.

Hey and if we are losing - Im happy Toopi to take one for the team and to somebodys jaw. Which was once the highlight of watching Anzac tests.

If young Mr Toopi:

A) Catches the ball,

B) Runs fast and straight (as opposed to tap dancing on the spot) upon catching said ball,

C) Does not pass in an utterly insane position, or kill a team mate with a hospital pass.

then we would have lost nothing by his inclusion. Admittedly, the chances of this perfect storm of competence happening are low, according to my "sun-shines-on-a-dogs-arse-o-meter".

Well some of the current players dont meet those requirements - I wont hold toopi up to higher expectations that other.lol

As for tap dancing on the spot - we already have whatuira for that and as for running straight we have mannering - so perhaps Toopi needs to run hard in way sees fit as long as he makes meters.

LOL at the hatred for Toopi

Hes not the worlds best centre admittedly but hes a sh*tload better than any other options we have atm (with Soliola/Matai out) so he deserves a shot! its not like we are picking a full strength kiwis lineup and debating his inclusion

Didnt he score the winner for the All Golds? sure it was set up by stace but he seems to cross the line an awful lot in big games (test wins v Australia, Prelim final etc)

Jeez, he went good. A couple of today's clangers were good enough to grace his own personal hall of shame.

I agree! I thought him & Perett played pretty well! Toopi was the only one who showed a bit of mongrel

I thought the previous post about chicken brain Toopi was sarcasm.
