Add a few, subtract a few (like those ratchet jaws noo-noo's The Whitlams) and this is a pretty good list imo.

The top 10 could hold its head high in any company. In fact if you dont have the top 30 on Minidisk, CD, DVD, Cassette, thumbdrive, reel to reel, Vinyl, MP3, 8 Track or embedded in an FLV then you should go and buy, beg, borrow, steal, rapidshare or torrent it.

Better still have a mate bring the LPs around in an old Zounds, Jolly Roger or Sound Advice Record Bag, get pharmaceutically challenged and listen from a bean bag.

The rest I don't care much for. Some of those albums are dreadful.

That's a very decent list, for lovers of the broad range of Australian music. The order of these things is always debatable, especially as you get lower down the list.

There's only a couple there I don't own or haven't heard, and will have to scout out (Drones?).

Can't argue too much - 10-1 is a fantastic album. Thought Hi-Fi Way might have been higher and Sound As Ever would have made the Top 50. A wonderful achievement for The Drones to make it so high up the list! Good to see the Go-B's get such a prominent mention too.

Reasonably predictable list in that they got for 70's-80's rock, but at least the Saints made it in the top 5.
Completely and utterly biasedly i'd put some Frenzal in there, just as they're my favourite band and they've relseased some very good stuff, but another album i think is stiff to miss out is The Living Ends debut release. Such a high quality, consistent and f**king fun album to listen to. Craps all over the likes of diorama or get born(or for that matter the birthday party, a band i just dont enjoy). But whatever.

And where are the Angels, Aus crawl of the top of my head at this time of the morning.

Great list. The things I'f do differently:

• Hi Fi Way as number one.
• Eternally Yours by the Saints top 10.
• Go-Betweens higher.
• Crowded House top 5.

But yeah, can't complain about a list with so much amazing music in it.

Without doubt it deserves to be there. Chris Cheney has got more talent in his f**king pinky than sh*t like Daddy Cool, Silverchair, Avalanches, You am I etc etc.

Compare this list to a top 50 albums from US, UK and Canada, and we get our arses handed to us.
