good list.

Overall fairly correct IMO.

Notable omissions for me would be.
Warumpi band - too much humbug
Loverama - custard
Penny century - the clouds
tumbleweed

could be on the top 100

Wisenheimer was a better album than Loverama.

Chris Cheney isn't fit to change Timmy Rogers' guitar strings. There is no comparison. The comment about The Living End being a one trick wonder is spot on.

one trick wonder? Cheney is an excellent guitarist, released some very good music as well.

And incase you didnt notice its greatest albums, which means the whole career isnt taken into account, more singular albums. As and album 'The Living End' is one of the best, easily. Not a bad track on it, fast, f**kin fun and technically excellent as well.
there's a reason i had to buy a new copy of it due to the overplaying of my last one.

ya know ...I like the living end but they do sound the same-ish in most songs.
Lets face it as great a guitar player as he is the style of music is not exactly original.

Alex I havent got weisenheimer.
''a new mathew'' off loverama is one of my all time favourite songs.
Good memories.
others I liked
Rail - bad hair life
Falling Joys - wish list.
The Hummingbirds - Love Buzz

Don't blame Timmy ..He is smart enough to steal form all genre's not just rockabilly.

That new song of TLE's ''white noise''?
Mate that is pretty ordinary.
It sounds a lot like any number of their other songs and the amount of times he sings ''white noise'' will make it one of the most annoying songs this year.
I hated it by the 2nd listen.

Wtf * 100000000000. I didn't get it then and I still don't get it now. Absolutely, completely and utterly full of tripe of the highest order.

Rubbish, one of the best albums to come out of Australia. Absolutely groundbreaking and fantastic in every way.

Hi Fi Way was released in 1994, Sound As Ever in 1993. They were so far ahead of their time it isn't funny. Bands like The Vines are copying off those 2 albums even today!

This isn't even worth discussing. TLE are a massive one trick pony. They don't deserve being mentioned in the same post as YAI.

Oh i agree, they've gone downhill. Last two albums have not been great bar a few songs/

Does not change the fact on how good their early stuff was tho (right up till the second album, which was a bit different to the first). And doesnt change the fact that this list is on individual albums, not whole careers, on which basis the living ends self titled release should be there.

gee I would've thought "Working Class Man" by Jimmy Barnes would've got the nod in there.

Can't believe silverchair's Diorama is rated better than their other albums Frogstomp and Freakshow.

No Butterfly Effect?

ffs what a sh*t list.

what a pile of shyte compiled by tone deaf trendy drop kicks

exhibits A and B

3 Radio Birdman - Radios Appear
4 The Saints – I’m Stranded

it would be instructive to put the actual sales numbers to this list and watch in meriment as the punk and other shyte gets hammered

I'm sure you'd have a stack of Oils records at the top of your list ;-)

Geeze Millers that is a bit harsh.

Funny I don't reckon either the saints or radio birdman are all that punk sounding.
Birdmans ''man with a golden helmet'' is an epic with piano even in it.

I have seen them (RB) live a couple of times this century.
Tragic.
At least when Garrett danced he looked a like raving lunatic, Rob Younger just looks like he can't dance.

Lots of things go into making an album a classic. How ground breaking it was, how much it influenced others, whether there is cohesion between all the songs, and how good the songs are. Then add some intangibles like how much it makes you want to jump around or how great it sounds loud on your car's tape player. You could easily add sales into that fix as a factor too -but it cant be everything.

It would be like saying Labor is the best political party because it got the most votes.

Hang on....
