For starters, sales don't mean sh*t. I think we can all agree that while Kylie Minogue would be one of the highest selling artists in Australia, no one would have them in their Top 10. It doesn't matter how many albums they sell, it is more about how timeless it is and how influential it is. In that case, The Saints, Radio Birdman and You Am I win. Simple as that.

After alot of time and thought, here is my Top 10 (no doubt for your ridicule)...

Regurgitator - Tu-Plang
Front End Loader - How Can We Fail...
Midnight Oil - 10-1
Radio Birdman - Radios Appear
You Am I - Hi-Fi Way
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abattoir Blues
Eddy Current Supression Ring - S/T
Pivot - Make Me Love You
The Panics - Sleeps Like A Curse
Bluebottle Kiss - Revenge Is Slow

I couldn't order them.

And finally...here is a great discussion article with some killer Top 10 lists.

i have never bought one

in my opinion music should sound good

and punk doesnt

its pretend music for tone deaf guys who are more intersted in fashion
Pffft
there's some average punk music out there, mind you there is average of all genres (ie radiohead, the panics, whatever genre they are they are f**king awful)

Also some very good stuff with very good musicianship
Some stuff that is simple yet sounds bloody good.

Way to much INXS. Nothing they did was any good outside the studio.

You were not at Heathcote Oval in the Sutho Shire in the early 1980's then mate. Or Endevour Oval Rock when he took the stage with barnsey at shark park to sing " Good times ".

You really missed out you " new ' generation blokes. :?

Ps... The swing album kills that kicked album though IMO....

Drinking Bundaberg at the end of the day.

Ive had a belly fulla living and the same old Merry-go-round.

No Powderfinger or Living End. Righto.

I'd also add Parkway Drive to the list but I know not everyone cares for metal.

Fat Boy Slim Dusty

Chefs, especially celebrity chefs, but all chefs really. Good ones, I mean, the ones
with the snooty attitude who think, what this world really needs is another braised
quot quot in a rococo of cuscus. And people who like all that sh*t like John Hindle and
Claude Forrell and all those food critics

By Christ, when your life's specialty is forcing another morsel of over-glazed lamb shank
down your oily, globular, over-opinionated gullet, when, of all the things in the world
men are called to do. Of all the vocations of love and adventure. Of all the trials of
the emotions and amongst all the voyages of spirit mankind can embark upon, when, given
this whole universe of possible callings, the one you choose is to sit on your crapulent
crack and lazily whine about someone else's cooking, that's when you know you are at the
very acme of the BFW sh*t heap

Ian Forrester, BFW
Abstract Expressionism, BFW

and every other f**king track and field athlete, BFW to the lot of ya

Tom and Nicole

Tom and Nicole Brown, I mean, whose parents moved into the house next door to ours for
six months, back when I was nine and I played with them after school for a while but I
never saw them again after their parents split up and they had to sell the house. That
Tom and Nicole, Tom and Nicole Brown are obviously BFW

Not the Tom and Nicole, whose similar marital troubles are terribly vital to me and us all

One thing I would like to know
Why is it [bleep] amongst groovers is all the go
But that same crew bag off Bardot
Who writes the songs, that's the thing
Any clotheshorse can learn to sing
[bleep]'s albums are eponymous but the songwriters stay anonymous
Naughty by Nature, the Back Street Boys, Boys 2 Men, who makes the noise?
Sisquo, Snoop Dog, less heard than seen
writing lyrics ain't nothing - except these I mean

Who are the ugly bastards hidden away
Who write the tunes that get air play
Listen [bleep] I don't want to trouble ya
But if you don't write the songs
