Sides that play all their home .games. At their own ground will have a huge advantage over sides like us Anzac day is the only game we should move doust says it is about money but if he kept all games at win n kograh he would increase membership and make it easier on the boys

I do not think that the Eels or Warriors will make the cut-off. Saints will have one of the Top 4 packs but they need to select a back-line that will fire. I see the improvers being the Dragons, Sea Eagles and the Panthers. The other teams will be the same or worse.
Sharks-Lost Ennis
Cowboys-Lost Tamou and Ponga
Broncos-Lost Gillett and Reed
Storm-Lost Green and Korebete
Bulldogs-Lost Lane, Perrett and Rona
Eels-Lost Foran, Gordon and Wicks
Bunnies-Lost Keary
Raiders-Lost Lee and Vaughan
Warriors-Lost Wright
Tigers-Lost Farah and Peni
The top eight in no order
predictions are:-
Cowboys
Broncos
Storm
Dragons
Sharks
Panthers
Raiders
Roosters

What about the Raiders?
Also Eels and Sea Eagles will finish just behind the eight and we will struggle unless something has dramatically changed re the type of footy we will be playing

Definites:
Storm
Raiders
Broncos
Cowboys
Rooster

Making up the remainder:
Sharks (loss of Ennis will hit them hard, should still make it but a couple of extra injuries could f**k them).
Panthers (definintely on the up, but hard to say with the number of youngsters they are relying on)
Titans (as per Panthers)
Rabbits (improving, but not enough to make them lock-ins)
Warriors (always unpredictable)
Bulldogs (can't write off any Hasler team)
Parra (Arthur seems to be able to lift the team, could easily put 2016 behind them in a big way)
Tigpies (make or break year for JT)

Cellar Dwellars
Dragons (enough said)
Knights (on the up, but not soon enough)
Manly (too many fundamental flaws)

Raiders might do ok
Its a tough top 8 to pick in 2017 but i had to leave someone out

Yep OK
I reckon they might actually go all the way in 2017 if they don't get the Sticky Ricky itches.
Just love the style and freedom they play with and every now and then that produces a premiership over the "play to our strength" football teams.
A good example was the Cowboys over the Broncos.
One can only hope to see something like a Cowboys v Raiders GF I think that would get the crowd on their feet.

Im backing the boys to step up... mary wil get the boot by round 8... matty head will jump in.. and the boys will kill it on the run home.

Like it doc.
If we can make top 6 it will be a good year to me.
If we make 7 or 8 it will be a average to poor year.
Anything less than that would be unacceptable

Anything less than a premiership is unacceptable. I couldn't care less about the top 8 because we won't be playing finals football again until we got our house sorted. Sadly I think only getting the spoon will be the catalyst for action to be taken.

Last year was similar with people saying top 8 and possibly top 4 and what a good year it would be and what good players we signed.

Interested to know what it is that has changed as to why people think we will finish above where we were last year?

1. Almost universally agreed that Mary is a dud coach.
2. Good agreement in here that Mary and his team can coach the talent out of almost any if not all players we have.
3. We have had some roster changes but in reality, it is not as if these signings are internationals that will be life changing for the team. They are small incremental changes and if points 1 & 2 are taken as a given it won't matter a lot anyway.
4. JD has left and no doubt with Head taking over Cutters, he will have his hands full enough, so his time for the firsts would be limited, let alone Mary actually taking notice anyway.

If the above is reasonably accurate any success we get can only be on the basis of others potentially going backwards which has been lauded to earlier.

It is great to have positivity and want the best for the team but if that gets in the road of the reality of the situation actually at hand, very often the status quo remains.
