with all the players out both sides this game is one we can all sit back and enjoy as it has little meaning.I still think it will be a good game and will put both clubs in a good position with the fill players getting some first grade games under there belt.
penrith to win in a close one

Panthers may as well not turn up. This game is going to be sooo easy, and now we get the greatest backrower of the past 3 years not playing Origin.

Dragons by 24

We will almost certainly turn up and I doubt the Dragons will win by 24. You may well win but I think you may be surprised as the contest should be much closer. The Dragons are at there spiritual home where they have an almost unbeatable record and clearly are entitled to favouritism. This is a game for the Panthers where we hope for a good performance but it is probably more about damage limitation ie no injuries to key players.

Dave Q, are you capable of serious postings? Back to the burrow for you. That's a good bunny.

You dont understand what you are dealing with.

A good proportion of the Panther side are playing to their ability. No other side in the NRL can boast this group strength.

And it hasnt been due to providence or luck. They follow the game plan, they have loads of energy and are full of ambition. Their heads are in the right place.

Barring any unforseeable misfortune, they will beat the Saints convincingly and will probably be the team to beat for the rest of the season.

Its getting to the stage where fans of other clubs will want to catch up with them for the joy of watching of a good side play footy.

Saints dont have that magic, nowhere near it.

The Panthers are back in town and the rest of us are just going to have to wear it.

Both sides have a fair amount of quality players out which in a way will make the game interesting IMO as we will get to see both teams depth tested and be able to witness some exciting young blokes trying to forge a name for themselves in the NRL.
Should be a great game reguardless, all the best fellas n hopefully saints in a tight one.
Cheers

This game is a key match up in so many respects. Saints were clearly the standout side in the first half of the season, but Penrith have all the momentum in the last few rounds.

With players out for origin, this is a test of the depth of both sides which could be important if injuries come into play for either side later in the season.

Saints have lost Jeremy Smith for this match now also.

Total of 9 players out now for the Dragons, and a complete forward pack.

The Panthers will aslo present without key players.

There is an argument that the Saints replacements are more seasoned that the Panthers, but once again, you have to look at where the head space is.

The Saints play a more robotic style of footy v the Panther's flair.

Panther young guns are desperate to get into the high performance top side.

Put the Manly game aside and the Panthers have not been much less robotic than the Dragons.

The Panthers forwards should be able to win the battle in the middle. From there it's up to Wade Graham to get the backs involved. His kicking game tonight is going to be the key.

I really hope he stands up and shows just how great he is.

the expected rain tonight could change the way the game is played.I would expected it to be played in tight with ball movement more for attacting the line rather than long distance attacks

The rain suits Saints down to the ground. I'm really interested to see how the young Panthers go when the screws are applied. They played great last week against Manly, but I don't think they'll get anywhere near the latitude in defence they were afforded last week.

Bring on 7pm.

Without Lewis, Walsh and Jennings our ability to take advantage of that would be limited anyway. If we're going to win tonight it's going to have to be in the forwards.

Saints fans and rest of world: zip.

A commanding performance by the switched-on Panthers.

A solid win against the best team in the comp.

Hats off to the boys. :D

Happy with the win but not getting carried away. Both teams were severely weakened. Good game Dragons fans.
