He not only built the team from nothing but the sport of rugby league in Canada up from nothing as well. Great effort!

The reason behind the jerseys and the color black is because they view them selfs as the ambassadors to NA for RL and want to embody what the All Blacks are for RU.

He was instrumental in getting the CRL to where they are now but it was Jamie Lester and others who resurrected rugby league in Canada. You have to bear in mind that Perez was only really involved with the Wolverines. I don't think he had much to do with the domestic scene in Ontario. As much as I like and admire what Eric has done so far he's not the be all and end all of Canadian rugby league.

Not sure whether because maybe Hull didn't have their best team or best performance, but for Toronto to only lose by 6 points against an ESL team that weren't far off winning it in 2016 is a great achievement.

Hull supposedly put a heap of younger players out in the second half, but even so they had 10 of their first choice 13 to begin with and only led 20-12 at halftime. And Toronto used heaps of players too so they wouldn't have had as much continuity as in a normal game either.
