Paulinho to Chelsea rumours seem to have died down. Not sure where they came from tbh. Surely any new manager would want to check him out first.

It died down ages ago but may pick up after the WC because he generally stars for Brazil. He was pretty pissed at not getting a run under TS, who preferred Spurs academy players like Bentelab.

Vertongen and Lloris are the ones we will struggle to hang onto, Monarco are offering shitloads for Lloris and PSG are sniffing around too.

I'm surprised by that. He always looked really pissed off and I thought he would have wanted to leave

He was pissed off at AVB, but has spoken in depth to Poch and agreed on a defensive restructure this TW, as well as a few other issues.

5 year extension and upgrade is a big step and I expect he will be our future captain as Daws looks to be off to Hull.

That would be great, I think he should be captain for sure. I wonder if we will persist with the high line, I guess we will as it suits Lloris and Poch's style but we will definitely need CB's with more pace than Dawson and Kaboul. Chiriches and Vert should be fine.

I think we just need stability now, we don't even really need any players in (apart from possibly a striker and an LB) . We have so many young players who could kick on, Modric was average his first year I remember, plus Bale was terrible for years. Starting to get optimistic, probably a bad thing....

We will have some decent activity without spending big, we did that last year. With some decent service I still think Soldado could be decent for us and having a fit Lamella is like a new player, he's been working hard with River Plate in the off season to build up his strength, the guy is made out of balsa wood.

At this stage it looks like Daws is off and Kaboul may be on match payments only as I think he is out of contract but wont pass a physical to be able to be transferred. Livermore is already gone and probably Rose, Siggy and Dembele.

We are apparently getting a CB, LB, CM and LWF that will strengthen our squad but not exactly marquee signings.

I dont think we are looking at a striker as such, but more of a left sided wing/forward as our left side is very weak.

The problem for you guys is that the top 5 are looking very strong this season.

A very good season on the pitch might still very well equate to sixth.

More fantastic news overnight.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-tottenham-hotspur-stadium-scheme-gets-the-green-light

The new stadium will have a capacity of just under 60K and our current stadium sells out at just over 40K every week, this will greatly increase our income.

Its not just a stadium, its a complex that will consist of stadium, shopping centres and high rise accommodation. Been on the drawing board for years and will have a huge affect on our financial capacity, expected to take 2 years to build and we may even have to share a ground for the second year but will be worth it in the long term.

Well done Mr Levy.

We looked pretty strong on paper at the start of last season and that didn't pan out too well.

I think this season will be a battle of the managers and who adapts to their line up the best.

Personally I think the situation will suit Chel$ki and Citihad as they will probably be more stable than ManU, Scousers and Spurs.

A new stadium/complex will be good for the area. I took a trip up to white heart lane when I was in London a few months ago and was shocked when I seen the area. It was filthy to go with most of the buildings around the place are about to fall down lol. The new stadium might kick the whole area into life.

Can't argue with that, I've viewed it on Google earth street view and it looks like a dump from the outside.

Yeah it pretty much is lol but from what I've heard it's not just a new stadium going in, they want to fix the whole area so it sounds like the club want to make the whole area to be new and nice to look at as well as a place people safe at. The gf said she didn't feel safe in the area but I didn't get that feeling.
