lots of friction atm

Levy wants to move onward and upward in this transfer window. He's happy to spend and make a statement.

H wants Joe Cole and a few of the off contract players, as they are good value, he seems to be forgetting they wont improve the squad.

They are miles apart on targets atm.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone tbh.

Why would redknapp not want to spend big? Seems like that is what you would want as a manager

What's changed, your statement sounds odd that levy wants to spend and Harry is trying to continue to pick up these bargain buys. I thought it was the other way round, surely the solution isn't letting Harry loose the candidates out there to replace him like for like are minimal now with Brendan Rodgers at Anfield

Harry is after 'triffic players, most of whom are old fellas' that he has worked with before.
Levy is a hard-ass bargainer, but he is thinking big.

That's the big issue with what I suggested earlier; Remy and co might only come because of Harry, but Redknapp doesn't want them apparently.
It leaves us between a rock and a hard place; whichever path we choose isn't going to end as well as we'd hope.

Mulling over earlier comments, I'm very conflicted now on the matter. If Harry isn't willing to spend the money we have to improve the squad and challenge for the title/actually make the Champions League, he shouldn't stay.
At the same time, he has taken us from just pushing the Champions League to making it and going far into the competition, and that deserves a lot of respect. His man-management skills are almost second-to-none.

Frankly it should be sorted out soon, either by announcing a contract extension or by sacking him. I love Harry and think he has been wonderful for us but it may be time to move on, as painful as it is to say that.

With Mourinho extending his contract with Real Madrid, there are few viable alternatives to Harry. If we can get Ancelotti, AVB or even Capello I would be more than happy. I don't think Moyes would leave Everton just yet, but if he did come to us I would be ecstatic. Martinez is a damn fine manager for keeping Wigan in the Premier League, some people look at their positional finish in the league each season and think little of him but it takes a very good manager to have a bottom-tier club attack like they do. Would he be right for Spurs is a different matter.
Brendan Rogers really was the best option, but unfortuneately Liverpool acted quickly.

I love H too, I think he's a triffic bloke but this is business.

I said a year ago that I believe his strength to be taking bottom of the table teams to Europa Cup position on the table with good management and shrewd transfers, but I dont think he has a killer instinct to manage a team with permanent CL and top 2 aspirations, because that is Levy's long term goal.

I still believe this is the case.

We got the new academy, the new stadium on the way to accommodate an extra 15K fans per week so we can afford higher wages. WHL is sold out every week. We've outgrown it.

We need a manager that suits where we want to go and I support Levy in what ever decision he makes. He is the man.

Btw, This is who Levy wants, I like his ambition.

Klopp won't leave Dortmund for a team not in the CL.

What's gonna happen with Modric, Bale and VdV? You guys reckon you'll keep them all?

Dont under estimate Dan Levy's persuasive powers. May just be pie in the sky but we'll just have to wait and see. Like I said we are looking at long term.

Barca enquired about Bale, Levy told them not to waste their time, and sent a copy to all the other major teams in Europe just to get the point across. Bale has been quoted as saying he doesn't want to leave.

VDV loves us and has been a big help in recruiting particularly with Vertonghen, also been in Luuk De Jong's ear, he seems to be Spurs thu and thru and he really loves living in London.

We'll sell Modric for the right price but it would need to be over 35mill and Real Madrid have already blown Manu"s bid out of the water, which suits Levy as he doesn't want to sell to an EPL team. The only proviso being it will need to happen in the next few weeks so we can get a replacement in early. I'd say he's 50/50.

Sandro is the future of our midfield and we'll build around him. Just my opinion.

So a few seasons ago you sell your best player at the last min messing up the season.

Last season your best player was unsettled as the club put to to high a figure on him.

Now this year your not only doing that, but your manager is unhappy, you can't move grounds because the silly notion of playing in the East end was binned and the council have no money to pay for a new stadium in Tottenham.

Yeah Levy is ace.

He should stop pretending he is some super business man, ship out the players that want champs league football, back the manager with the money and move up.

Or keep an unhappy manager for one more year because apparently 4 mil is to much for the super business man, watch the best players value drop, do not buy any quality and watch the team regress.

Levy will do option 2. Its his way.

Jürgen Klopp? Hahahahahaha!! Please sign him.

he just did OK in the BL

You dont rate him ?

I know bugger all about him. It seems we are shopping around in Germany for our new manager but no idea who atm.

Still nothing been made official on H other than his comments about not resigning, apparently the wage he wants is ridiculous.

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT - HARRY REDKNAPP
Posted 14 June 2012 03:37am
The Club can today announce that Harry Redknapp will be leaving his post as manager.

Chairman Daniel Levy commented, "This is not a decision the Board and I have taken lightly. Harry arrived at the Club at a time when his experience and approach was exactly what was needed. This decision in no way detracts from the excellent work Harry has done during his time with the Club and I should like to thank him for his achievements and contribution. Harry will always be welcome at the Lane."

Harry said, "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Spurs and am proud of my achievements. I have had a fantastic four years with the Club, at times the football has been breathtaking. I am sad to be leaving but wish to thank the players, staff and fans for their terrific support during my time there."
