yeh, we'll go through that again no doubt, especially after not qualifying

Barca are sniffing around for Bale and both Manchester teams are making bids for Modric as quoted in the press, probably a few more that we wont hear about.

Levy wont let anyone leave but it definitely disrupted our team at the start of the season with Modric have his little sulk.

If we get silly money offered for Modric I'd take it, he was pretty ordinary this season. In our player of the year poll, he rated 9th, so if anyone wants to shore up 35mill or thereabouts, I'd take it and splash it on some one else.

It's all about the Champions League mate. City are building a side to compete with Barca and Real Madrid and still have a bit left to go back to back in the EPL.

Apparently there is gonna be a whole lot of crap in the pommie fish wrappers this morning about Spurs taking on UEFA about missing CL as it worked for Liverpool and they got their spot back.

Don't know how much truth to it but I guess we'll see.

You never know if you don't ask I suppose. It would be good to see Spurs back in

Although I would have thought it's unlikely that they'd allow five clubs from one country because it would skew the association rankings

alot of arguments for it, financial compensation for a spot that we earned, or thats whats being touted

apparently Everton tried this as well and they were successful also but I'm also reading that as Liverpool and Everton were successful, they have stitched up those loopholes now

its in UEFA's interest, more games, more money ect

however we are told not to get our hopes up

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you guys will be playing Europa league because this situation has happened before.

They changed the rules after it happened when Liverpool won in 05.

It's worth a shot i guess but i really can't see them letting you get through.

The difference is that Liverpool won the Champs league and the rules at the time said that does not mean automatic qual for next year.

Liverpool then had a few candle light vigils, a bit of self pity and a major cry to UEFA who let them into the first qualifying round.

This time its Spurs who miss out because of the above case as now the winners do get auto. qual. for the champs league and take up one the quota spots for there country.

So in this case England get 4 champs league spaces, this is for the top 4 unless another team wins the thing. So in this case, the English FA have to put Chelsea forward as the 4th team in the comp so Spurs miss out.
The only appeal Spurs will have is with the English FA. They will say no unless they get given an extra place by UEFA, which won't happen.

It doesn't work like that any more form what I have read.

It used to be that each country would put their top teams forward as you say, but now the country has no say, its done directly by UEFA and the countries are not consulted.

Should Harry be sacked?
If players like Remy and co will only join if Harry stays then I think the choice is clear.

the players want him more than the fans do, either way it needs to be sorted quickly

Levy had offered him a pay rise effective immediately on a 2 year deal but H wants a 4 year deal but he'd be just on 70 at the completion of a 4 year deal and that is the sticking point

Levy and the board have not forgiven him for dropping the ball for about 9 games when we went through that really bad run of form where we basically suspended 3rd spot, it coincided with his court case and he was obviously thinking more about the England job than his spurs job

some of his decisions on team formations and lack of player rotation have been blamed for our bad run

Harry wants Remy but he seems to be the only one, Levy and the board make the decisions and do the negotiations, Harry has nothing to do with transfers.

Remy has the highest success rate of any player in Europe from set shots, and no secret that we probably have the worst success rate from set shots than any other team in the EPL. He's good in the air which is why H wants him but Levy and the board are looking at other strikers.

No quotes, and the fee is between £26 and £30 million? I call bullcrap, Levy won't sell him that cheaply.
