i guess if you believe he's the best its all good, your entitled to your opinion , but if he was so good, then you wouldn't be playing on Thursday nights this season.

If we didn't lose Kaboul and Sandro at the start/middle of the season, and if we actually had decent strikers up front, we wouldn't be playing Thursday nights this season.

Try again.

had a 9 point lead over arsenal, we lost Diaby, who was suppose to be our DM, and had Giroud as our front man, When Ade was our front man he scored 30 in a season.

If bale was so great he would have been clutch in those games you drew and lost on the run in.

Fábio Coentrão from RM seems to want to come over to us, Portuguese left back has close ties to AVB

forgot to mention, this deal wont cost us anything, it will just reduce the Modric debt which is still at ?25 million

Yes, because Juan Mata and Robin Van Persie won every single game for their teams. :?

Well its not as if he doesnt have the talent too score, just a lack of class Playmaker, which is what i pointed out earlier.

Thanks for proving you haven't watched Spurs in the past year. Adebayor was absolutely horrible and had more than enough chances to score goals. He missed open goals several times - two in the space of a week come to mind - and simply refused to attack the ball at any point. Dembele and Bale set up more than enough chances for the guy to score, and he either didn't get anywhere near the ball or put it wide by a large margin. He might still have talent, but he proved last season that once he gets a paying long-term contract he stops giving a sh*t.

What is it with you and digging yourself a massive hole? If Bale actually had a good striker up front, he wouldn't have had to score all those goals, it is as simple as that. People forget that he has a killer cross on him, and he delivers some great set pieces. Adebayor simply can't be a front man for us anymore if he wants to continue his recent form.

I lol'd when I read reports about Carlton cole trialling with your lot. Seemed difficult to believe.

The position of missing open goals and not taking advantage of great work to set the front man up is well and truly already filled at spurs :)

Although, he always tried hard, that's one up he has on adebeyor..

No where near the talent though.

Nothing to do with that at all, Dembele, Siggy, Holtby and Bale et al gave him more than enough chances.

He just doesn't give a f**k any more. When you see a guy miss from point blank range and laugh his head off you have to wonder what he is thinking.

Looks like he may be off the Greece, 2 teams (Galatasaray is one) have met our valuation and his wage demands. We just need to give him a push out the door.

Mata, RVP, Suarez, Hazard, Aguero - just to name a few - are all world class players.

But I believe Gareth Bale is a class above even those guys. He's in that rare superstar category along with the likes of Iniesta, Falcao, Neymar and Cavani, just below the two Gods of our generation - Ronaldo and Messi.

In fact as of right now i'd put Bale down as the 3rd best player in the world. What he did at Spurs last season was remarkable.

Football is the ultimate team sport. As such no player will ever be capable of single-handedly carrying his team to glory. Hence all the Europa League comments are pointless. But having said that, if it wasn't for Bale last season then poor old Spurs would have been struggling to finish in the top 8.

How many points did he single handedly win them with remarkable goals?

He's a freak player. Mata and RVP are world class; but Bale is on another level.

IMO! And im certainly not a Spurs fan.

I agree mostly Tommy, but I'd like to see him do it for longer than 1 season.

BTW, AusKnightRKO if I didnt read who wrote the post I'd confuse yours with bunniesman.

Watch Arsenal 2011/12 and come back and tell me Bale is a better player than RVP. He Carried that team too 3rd that year and last year gave UTD the title in the easiest of fashion's. if it wasnt for his injury plagued 4-5 year spell, he would be top 5 in the world for the last decade.

Where as Bale had a purple year, he needs to do it for another season atleast.

I agree he does need to show that form for an extended period.

You cant compare him to RVP though, he is not a striker, he is a left winger who at the end of the season was moved to a central spot playing as an AM in a 4-2-3-1 format.

I know that when Gareth Bale was at Southampton... Sir Alex chased him really hard. He rated him very highly and I think the promise of more first team football at spurs was the only thing that kept him away from old trafford. Which was a smart move for him.

The only other guys i saw Sir Alex really go that heavily for were Torres at Athletico and Ronaldiniho at PSG.

So Sir Alex rated him highly...

sorry mate but that is just not true

Bale was offered to SAF but he just didn't rate him and wasn't interested. There are tons of media releases on this.

In his defence, we didn't anticipate his rise to fame either, we saw him as a useful left back and nothing more because he had only ever played LB before he came to Spurs.
