A first half goal from captain Francesco Totti was the difference at a packed SkyDome in Toronto as AS Roma defeated Celtic 1-0 in the Champions World Series.
The two Champions League qualifiers entertained a capacity crowd of 50,168 with Italian international Totti grabbing the all-important goal in the 25th minute.
Gaetano D'Agostino created the opening down the right flank and his cross to the far post was headed over a leaping David Marshall by Totti.
The Scottish champion was kept at bay by the Roma defence with Stephen Pearson's miss deep in to stoppage time summing up the Celtic's evening.
Roma boss Cesare Prandelli included Totti, Greek defender Traianos Dellas, Italian international Cristian Panucci and French midfielder Olivier Dacourt in his starting XI while Celtic began the game with the likes of Northern Ireland international Neil Lennon, top defender Bobo Balde and former England international Chris Sutton.
Roma next meets Liverpool in New Jersey on Tuesday while Celtic's American tour has drawn to an end.
Another good work-out for our young-guns, not that the result matters. This will be invaluable experience to alot of our Primavera players. Mexes played well again, whilst Totti was MOM.
