Tragedy strikes at Wests Tigers

You don't think Sheens got into them after last week? You don't think Sheens had anything to do with them since Sunday?

What about Anderson? He was a genius last year when Parra had their run. Is it his fault all of a sudden that Parra is getting towelled?

Wests have never ben a club that attractsd the big names in the way the Chooks and Manly have. Yet, although Wests fans have seen the Morris years, Sheens has pulled the likes of Ellis, Tequiri and Galloway to the club. And he refined Galloway as a prop.

He's also made Marshall and Farah, and all the others hanging around since 05 like Heighington.

Their big problem is obviously consistency - mainly as a result of having a small pack and a free flowing footy ethic. They havent got small forwards any more.

I ask tigers fans, would anyone prefer to have Lamb or Pearce back?

i think people still underrate sheens ,

No offence Gaba but it's comments like these that once again prove that you're a deadset halfwit that's knows very little to nothing about the game and i'm sure if you reply there'll only be further evidence to prove my point.

You say that people underrate a coach like Sheens who in 7 full seasons at the helm has taken his team to the finals ONCE (albeit a premiership win) yet you bag sh*t out of "no plans" Bellamy at every opportunity possible even though he took over his team the very same year that Sheens did, the difference being that ol no plans has taken his team to the finals in EVERY year since and to 4 grand finals and 2 premierships. Though in your eyes Sheens is unfairly judged as overrated and Bellamy is just and average coach!

Now please don't let us down with your reply Gaba, your audience awaits....

At least he's better than Elliott. :(

That's like being smarter than the kids in the remedial class, sure it's something, but not worth gloating about.

As for the extension, meh it's 1 year, if we miss the 8 this year, I can't see him coaching us in 2012.

Sheens outcoaches Anderson? give me a break.

The fact our defence was stiff and Benji was back to his best didn't contribute to any of this?

Our defence was the best I have seen in years. Being at the game we smashed them especially in the first half. The parrmatta forwards didn't want to run late in that half.

Signing Sheens whilst I was against it could be a good idea, our players seem to like him. Still hope he walks if we don't make the semis this year.

at least this stops the Ricky Stuart to Tigers rumour

It doesn't really stop the Russell Crowe wants Sheens at Souths rumours as John Lang's 2 year contract ends after 2011 season and its pretty well known that he is just in a caretaker role for just 2 seasons...

No. But I would take just about any coach in the NRL over Sheens. If he took the team to the finals this year, then sure, maybe look at giving an extension, but not after round f**king 3.

Apart from Pearce, I cannot think of a single coach in recent times who has remained at a club for 4 years straight depsite not making the semis. And Pearce had much, much worse players on his roster than Sheens.

I rate sheens over his coaching career canberra.cowboys, tigers and he has shown with teams he comes up with the right plans and those plans get executed.

With Bellamy yes he is passionate etc, as a tactical/Technical game plan coach there is no plans from him.

The game plans for the storm are made by smith, cronk, inglis, and slater as they are playing.

Look at state of origin nsw under Bellamy is a good example, they have no game plans to combat inglis, slater and smith

I just like watching tactical/technical coaches with game plans the likes of Bennett,Brownie, hagan, sheens, smith ,staurt

None of that made any sense. You should pay attention to proper grammar and sentence structure before you start typing. Jesus Christ.

it makes reasonable sense

Bellamy is not a tactical or technical game plan coach , and sheens is

And that style has 2 premiershps, 4 grand finals and 3 minor premierships. But no, you dont like it so it must be no good. Idiot.

If Sheens has coached sides to a premiership 4 times it's hard to doubt his credentials.

I am sometimes astounded by his selections in the 7 jersey but they have been struggling with that ever since Prince left. Their forward pack has been terrible for years too, it's only starting to come good now... but it's still probably not a premiership-capable pack.

If anybody deserves to be taken out and tried for witchcraft at the Tigers it's whoever they have in charge of recruitment. It's hard to play well without a real halfback.

I for one am quite happy with this news.
Outsiders looking in,and bitch and moan Tigers supporters will disagree with me,but would we have Marshall,Farah and Lawrence still playing for us.Do you think Ellis and Tuqiri would have been so enthused about joining a club with with a no-name coach.
Sure i am frustrated as to not make the finals in 4 years but at least we have a premiership under our belt with Sheens.
We are at least a very entertaining team to watch and i consider Sheens(with our style of play)to reign supreme once again.
Would we be so appealing if Bennett was in charge?
Perhaps Bellamy?
Me thinks not.
Go Sheensie!
