this is outrageous!!!

“Extra buses will be operating to get Eels and Rabbitohs supporters to the game,” a spokesperson for the Transport Coordination Group said.
Buses will run between Lidcombe Station and Park St, Olympic Park every 10 minutes throughout the day.
From midday until 3.40pm, direct buses will travel to Olympic Park from:
• Parramatta Station every five to 10 minutes
• North Strathfield Station every five to 10 minutes
• Merrylands Station every 10 to 15 minutes
• Bankstown Station every 10 to 15 minutes
• Parramatta Leagues Club every 10 minutes

From 4.40pm until crowds clear after the game,
frequent direct buses will leave Olympic Park for:
• Parramatta Station
• Strathfield Station
• Merrylands Station
• Bankstown Station
• Parramatta Leagues Club
“Anyone heading to Sydney Olympic Park next weekend is encouraged to plan early, and allow extra travel time,” the spokesperson said.

Thats better public transport than you would normally get for a regular match, isnt it?

given the trains from parramatta dont go to olympic park, but they're putting buses on from parramatta, I'd say they've done well.

not on that line mickdo, more would use it between Friday and Monday then the rest of the week.

I'm with you pete what are trains? not many up here.

You do realise there is a business precinct at Olympic Park including Samsung, Acer and CBA, not to mention an Aquatic centre and other sporting venues?

No i had no idea, i have only been to ANZ, the show ground and the Athletics track. I don't live anywhere near the area so i was just bitching about the government again.
I haven't caught a train in many years.
So i retract my statements.

Not just to and from the station, either. They're running buses to and from the Leagues Club which is excellent. A couple of coldies then straight on the bus to the game.

Nice.

Sounds a pretty good deal to me. Last year's Eels Bulldogs match worked out well. Hopped on an Easter show express bus for free and I was there in 15 minutes instead of an hour by bus and train connections.

They should move the game to Parramatta stadium tbh...
:thumn

Let's start a campaign

Good to know to make alternate arrangements, thanks for the details Fish. The Club could even send those bus arrangements through via the Members email, if they were thinking ahead....

If you get one of the buses from a train station, you might need a train ticket as it would be classed as a rail replacement bus. Doesn't matter either way for me, I get free travel
