That thing about Ronaldo was in Marca last week, and was reported as Man Utd's somewhat facetious demand if they were ever going to let him go to Madrid.

Although the rumour now in Marca is that Ronaldo has a 90 million euro buyout clause which they are considering meeting.

Robinho and Diarra they are willing to sell, the former though only if it involves landing Ronaldo. Ramos they are not willing to let go.

SPURS have won the race to sign Barcelona wonderkid Giovani Dos Santos.

The youngster – who can play as a striker or attacking midfielder – will arrive in a £12.5m deal, sources in Spain confirmed last night.

Known as Giovani, he has just turned 19 and is the son of former Brazilian international Zizinho.

But his mother comes from Mexico and – as he was born there – he plays for them.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos sees Giovani’s creative skills and goal-scoring ability as a much-needed boost for his Spurs team, following a season in which the Carling Cup win just about compensated for a disappointing 11th-place finish.

Known for his speed and dribbling skills, the left-footed Giovani can play down either wing, behind the main striker or as a centre-forward.

He made his competitive debut for Barcelona in September, coming on as a sub, and also was brought off the bench for his Champions League bow that month.

Giovani made 28 appearances in La Liga for Barca this season, starting 10 times. Ironically, it seems he will be leaving after his happiest game for the club – he scored his first league goals for Barca with a final-day hat-trick in a 5-3 victory at Real Murcia.

He was credited with 14 assists in the campaign.

Nicknamed La Perla Mexican, Giovani has also drawn comparisons with Ronaldinho, because of his looks and ability.

He will be the second big-money arrival as Spurs look to make a better impact on the Premier League next season.

Croatian star Luka Modric has been snapped up despite the interest of Chelsea and Manchester United as Spurs back Ramos in the transfer market.

The summer promises to be a time of major changes, with the Spaniard making it clear he was unhappy with a number of players in his squad late in the campaign.

Wow, Spurs go from strength to strength. Wonder if Berbatov will be tempted to stay now?

No one has made the big offers that it would take to get him to move. Personally I dont think he is worthe the €25m we were asking and apparently neither does anyone else.

Strong rumours about that his contract is being upgraded and he's staying.

Dont know why we need to upgrade him, 16 goals, same as Robbie Keane, and he's not being upgraded or having a big price tag put on his head.

Personally I think Berby is a bit overrated.

I would also say that Robbie Keane has been very underrated. Always seems to score goals when Spurs needs them, even if he generally floats around the 10-15 goal mark each season. I don't really see Berbatov as an out and out goal-scorer anyway, although he was scoring freely in Germany. He's more of a Bergkamp type player.

I reckon adding someone like Eto'o will really be the jigsaw piece that sees you guys become realistic top four candidates. Looking very healthy at the back (although you need a new keeper, right?), and Modric and Dos Santos look like they'll go some way to covering the deficiences in the mid field.

f*ck.

As much as it pains me to say it, well done Spurs.

Modric and Dos Santos are quality players.

If only our guys got off their backside's and made something of all these bullsh*t rumors.

perhaps I am being hard on Berby as he did well in Germany, but perhaps he had a midfield to give him good supply, which he has never had at Spurs

Ramos seems to have identified that and done something about it

be interesting to see if he can live up to the hype with good service from a better midfield

We aint after Eto'o and according to Poyet, we never were

There are a ton of rumoured strikers we are linked with but not sure why we need so many

Veloso is apparently next on the list, a pretty good DM

we are looking at two new keepers, and are linked with a few

I dont see that we need to beef up our defence with Bale, King, Woodgate Hutton/Gilberto et al

A world class keeper should replace Robbo, he's outta here

the only problem with your defence is King and Woodgate as centre backs, which is fine but both could go down for 75% of the season as the drop of a hat.

of course not, and I dont know much about how good your back up is, but if I was a spurs fan I'd be concerned not so much as having one 'David Woods' in the centre of defence, but 2.

But you never know, they could both play 30+ games next season and be injury free

latest strong rumour is that Richard Dunne is having his medical at WHL on Friday

should go along way to relieving the depth situation

A defender such as Yobo or even Friedrich from Hertha (though fishy would no much more about him then i do, just going off what i have seen of him through international games) would be great for Spurs, tough, uncompromising backs who are rarely injured and are rocks at the back, no nonsense.

Though if Woodgate and King are fit, there is no need, though that is a huge IF.
