What about strikers?

You've lost Keane and have Berbatov, who looks likely to stay but doesnt want to be there.

Bent is the only one remaining from last year, he has scored 7 in his last two games, but you need to consider the opposition, we've been winning by 5 and 6 goals

alot will depend on our formation, whether we play a lone striker or the standard 442, I doubt Ramos will do anything standard

Dos Santos has been playing as an attacking mid, same role will be played by butshaver, who will be announced very soon.

Villa is the obvious main striker, he is expected to sign next week, Milito (who I've never seen or heard of) has agreed to terms and should be announced soon, but from what I can gather he will be back up to our main two.

Pavylechenko (sp) has agreed to terms so has his club, Spurs are waiting on the Villa outcome before they decide to preceed with Pavly as they dont rate him above Bent, Villa and Milito

I'm not too worried about our attacking options fishy :D

Geeze Twiz they're a bit thin the striking options....

Umm....but it's Darren Bent

Dos Santos is still young, and unproven.

The ruskie, good signing if you get him, but again, you will need him to quickly adapt to the more physical and quicker EPL.

Villa is the obvious main striker, he is expected to sign next week, Milito (who I've never seen or heard of) has agreed to terms and should be announced soon, but from what I can gather he will be back up to our main two.

:D

Either of those guys would be good.

I guess the concern for me, if I was a Spurs fan, would be Berby - whether he has his heart in it or not, because he can be a petulant little prat.

Him aside, you dont really have anyone who is a proven goal scorer.

You're going to need a stack of goals out of midfield, and you are going to need those players to hit the ground running in a new and unfamliar league.

Another option for Spurs could be Mario Gomez. He is much, much better than he showed at Euro - and his efforts there have really hit is value, so much so that he is being now linked with Fulham!

btw fishy Dos Santos practice match form has been outstanding, last night he featured in all 6 goals

the surprise packet has been Bostock and he's only 17, he and Dos Santos have made Modrick look like just another EPL midfielder

I'm quiet happy with our options, the biggest problem is trying to get a team thats about 80% new players to gel

they are gonna take some time to adapt no doubt

It is a FM08 dream team!

It will be interesting to see who starts and the formation used come first match.

I've heard bits and pieces about Milito. Apparently he's pretty good. Obviously wants to leave Zaragoza now that they are down in the second division.

The Darren Bent who top scored for an Englishman two seasons ago and even with limited opportunities, still had the best goals to minutes played ratio of all of Spurs' strikers last season?

Yeah. The same sh*t darren bent.

Top scoring englishman??

James Beattie did that one year, didnt he?

If Spurs have ambitions of top 4 they're kidding and so are you if you think they can do it if they end up relying on darren bent to lead their line....

Jay is right fishy

I've seen the stat posted on COYS, cbf looking for it now

for the hours he has spent on the pitch, he has outscored Berby and Keane, and we just got 48mill for them two

that's a pretty useful stat if you're into stats

I just dont rate Bent.

As I said, he might have been the highest scoring englishman one year, but James Beattie did, or went freaking close one year and he played in the championship last year didnt he?

Bent is a good striker, but not one to lead the line for a top 4 side IMO.

totally agree and if he is our main striker we are in strife, but I dont believe he is crap

having said that, he scored again last night in a 2-0 win against Celtic, 8 in 3 games is pretty good effort

9 goals from 4 from Bent. Ramos gave him a kick in the ass...or gave him something else up the ass.

Bent has been impressive not just his goal scoring, I think he is finally fit

he was our best player against Celtic

it helps having a midfield, something we've not had for a few years

I watched the Madrid Gooners game, it was pretty fast flowing game, good quality.

Gooners got some pretty good young players
