Tottenham Hotspur Football Club could land Diego Capel for £8.5million.

Juande Ramos is keen to raid his former club Sevilla to land the young winger at the end of the season, and the Spaniard has been given a clear indication that he could land his man for £8.5million.

"I can say that he still has three years left on his contract at Sevilla and that there is a clause set at £8.5million,” agent Rene Ramos told calciomercato.com.

"I haven't been contacted by any clubs or by Sevilla, who would have to hear about any deal first. Capel's only focus at the moment is doing well for the Rojiblancos."

ffs, someone give Sevilla a break. As I said, I do think it's time they sell Alves and Fabiano. But c'mon, Capel, Keita, Kanoute. The club can't afford to lose all of those players.

  • Hatem Ben Arfa is likely to be Arsenal's first signing
  • Newcastle's Alan Smith is attracting interest from both Middlesbrough and Rangers
  • Paul Robinson and Joe Hart may trade clubs, although Robinson has also attracted interest from Aston Villa and Middlesbrough
  • Maik Taylor is set to snub Liverpool in favour of remaining at Birmingham
  • Aston Villa are keen on Portsmouth's Pedro Mendes
  • Nicky Shorey is a target for Newcastle
  • Juventus believe they have won the race for Mark Schwarzer
  • Sunderland have Diego Forlan, Steve Sidwell, Jonny Evans and Aiden McGeady on their shopping list
  • David Bentley is considering an offer from Tottenham, but Man United and Liverpool are still interested

I'm hearing Nurenburg....Although probably not a great idea considering they are on the brink of being relegated.

why?

Nuremberg will come straight back up.

He'll get regular game time in a good quality league (bundesliga 2) that draws bigger crowds than some other top divisions in europe.

Josh Kennedy was playing for a lower to mid table bundesliga 2 side when he was picked for the socceroos world cup squad....

Quality player.

Seems like Sevilla and Valencia (understandably) are going to be r@ped of their talent this year.

I'm just basing my comment on the fact that it'd be better to go to a top division team rather than a 2nd...But if you think they'll come straight back up, then maybe it's worth it.

I know a little bit but probably don't know enough about the Bundesliga to disagree with you. And considering you have Kahn in your avatar, i'm going to assume that it's a particular interest of yours.

Indeed.

I doubt Djite would get first team football straight away in any big euro league, maybe belgium, a lower dutch side or the scandinavian leagues.

If he signs for Nuremberg and they get relegated, he'll play first team next year for sure, if they stay up, he'd be back up behind Jan Koller and Charisteas. Neither one of those guys will hang around next year if they go down.

They've underperformed shockingly this year and I'd be stunned if they dont come straight back up. They're this season Gladbach who underperformed, went down and have won promotion straight back up.

tough titties

apparently we were looking at Kanoute as a Berby replacement but it seems likely that Berby is not going anywhere now,

mind you this could change in no time

Capel would be a big loss, he's such a young explosive player, one of my fav players to watch.

Tbh honest I think all players moving from the A-League should be targetting Serie B, Bundesliga B, Liga B, Championship, Ligue 2. If they can prove themselves there where most should get fair enough game time then doors will open, not only at other clubs but to promotion as well. Take Nicky Carle for example. Moves to Bristol, plays well, gets starting spot, now is a 50/50 chance of playing in the EPL next season?

A move to a relegated Nurnberg would be great. For him, Vidosic and Spiranovic - WHO SHOULD ALL BE CAPPED NOW!

Just start Spiranovic against Gahna, bring Vidosic on 70-75th minute...

well it all depends on what the player wants to achieve personally...some have dreams of serie a some EPL etc.
Best example is Carl Valeri, Luke Wilkshire...if the kid is keen to be a socceroo and play a decent league these 2 are the men 2 talk too.

To me the point of going to Romania, Poland, Turkey etc are a thing of the past. Players now are better of staying in a league and snagging a deal like u said!
There are a rare few who can go str8 to an EPL or Serie A club

  • The papers are out in force speculating Schevchenko wants to reignite his career alongside Mateja Kezman at Fenerbache.
  • However Kezman may be on his way out of Fenerbache after interest from Barcelona, Atletico and Inter Milan.
  • Despite Twiz stating the Kameni rumour is dead, it is well and truly alive, several newspapers confirming Kameni will fly into London within a couple of days.
  • Aston Villa joins a long list of clubs eager for David Bentleys signature.
  • Arsene Wenger has supposedly expressed interest in signing Briminghams FM gun Mauro Zarate.
  • Arsenal are supposidly closing in on Lyon youngster Hatem Ben Arfa
  • Call me Ishamel Miller is linked with Portsmouth
  • Pedro Mendes may be on his way out of Pompey, and may find himself in an Aston Villa jumper.
  • Nicolas Anelka may raise his overall transfers by 15 million pounds with a deal with Tottenham on the cards.
  • Olivier Kapo is being targetted by several Premier League clubs including West Brom, Pompey, Fulham and Wigan.
  • Giovani Dos Santos, the next best thing in my eyes seems as if he'll be playing in London, in a Chelsea jumper next season.

Spurs set to make £6million bid for Bolivia striker Moreno
Last updated at 15:52pm on 15th May 2008

Brazilian club Cruzeiro expect Tottenham to make a bid upwards of £6million for Bolivia striker Marcelo Moreno.

Alvimar Perrella, president of Cruzeiro, claims Spurs have had an offer turned down for the 20-year-old, with Shakhtar Donetsk putting in the highest bid so far.

"The proposal was well short of what we expected," said Perrella. "Of course, they should return to make a new offer but, until now, no [they haven't]."

Perrella suggested a possible problem with negotiations could be Moreno only being partly owned by the club and a third party owning the rest of his playing rights.

Meanwhile, Spurs striker Robbie Keane wants a future in coaching after he retires from playing.

The 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international will not pursue his ambition while he is playing but has revealed his ambitions to remain in the game when he finishes.

"I'm at the age now where I have started to think about it and I'd like to get into coaching," Keane said.

"It's not something I'll do now as I don't want to put any more pressure on myself and want to concentrate on playing, but it's something I'll look to do in the future."

Tycoon Thaksin Shinawatra has put Manchester City’s entire squad up for sale in the latest twist to his bizarre behaviour.

Thai billionaire Shinawatra, who is already set to sack manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, is apparently so disgusted with the team’s performances in the second half of the season that he wants a massive clear-out, including young stars such as Micah Richards, Michael Johnson and Joe Hart.

The news of the impending fire sale throws City even deeper into turmoil and will further antagonise fans, who staged a mass demonstration against Shinawatra last week.

They are threatening to withhold money for season tickets until it becomes clear who the manager will be next season and what players will be on the pitch. It also underlines the belief of many City insiders that Shinawatra does not understand football.

City’s owner, it is understood, has written a letter to each member of the team conveying his feelings.

He has put all contract talks on hold and wants to start next season from scratch with a new manager and new players. All this has prompted deputy chairman John Wardle, who is distraught at the crisis, to apologise to the players for selling the club to Shinawatra.

But the damage has been done and many players will be delighted to jump ship and relaunch their careers at a club with a less volatile owner.

Skipper Richard Dunne is expected to join Newcastle for £5million. The poor treatment of Eriksson was the final straw for Dunne, City’s Player of the Season. Richards is also unhappy.

He signed a new four-year contract in February because he was sure the club were going in the right direction. But Manchester United and Chelsea have now been alerted.

Johnson is a target for Liverpool, and goalkeeper Hart is being pursued by Tottenham, who also covet Martin Petrov, City’s Bulgarian winger.

Sunderland have been eyeing Stephen Ireland and there would be no shortage of bids for Elano.

Morale was so low that City lost Sunday’s final league game 8-1 against Middlesbrough.
