This is from the European Club Association report on Youth Academies.

Vision and Philosophy

The CEO and

first team coach have preached the
youth academy values since José Mourinho introduced
a new philosophy to the club: a squad consisting

of 18 top players and five of these emerging from the
youth academy. This philosophy has three advantages:
1)

Stars are less disillusioned by a lack of match play;
2)

It increases and speeds up the development of

youth talent;
3)

Financially, it is a good investment as, in the long

term, there is less dependence on, expensive

foreign players

José Mourinho’s team 19+4 won the Treble

The work José Mourinho undertook at Internazionale Milano FC is highly appreciated – especially
his vision of football. Mourinho supervised the
work of Inter’s youth academy via regular visits,
meetings and open discussion with youth coaches
in order to develop new Inter players. Mourinho
launched the so-called 19+4 format in the Senior

A team squad. He wanted to have 19 experienced,
world-class players plus four promising youngsters
from the club academy. The academy is therefore
responsible for developing at least four players

capable of joining the Inter A team every season.

While we are bagging the worst Sport in the EPL I read an interesting snippet the other day.

In Spurs foray into UCL 2 years ago, we won more group stage games that year than Gooners have in the last 3 years.

I'm all for ragging on Wenger as it is very funny and Arsenal fans get so deluded about it but anyone who says Mourinho actually develops anything is living in the same dream land.

This will be interesting now, and a chance for Jose to actually prove beyond any doubt he is any good.

Last time at the renties he was in charge of the only russian billionaire owned club in the world and came into the prem at a time when the big two teams United and Arsenal were starting a rebuilding phase.

He got a good two year run before SAF overtook him domestically, he messed up the champs league and got sacked by Roman for failing.

Winning at Inter when all the rivals were falling over themselves to be the most corrupt team in the league counts for as much as when Mancini did it.

Real, he had the most expensive player in the world, a host of stars and managed to get sacked from there for failing.

So basically, now he is going back to Chelsea who are not the only big spenders in the world, his rivals are putting the finishing touches on rebuilding and he has to win the champs league with a team that is better than the one Roberto Di Matteo managed to win the comp with.

If he does great things, fair enough. If it ends in tears again, then we can put the myth to bed. Lets see how it goes.

Mourinho doesn't develop young players but he has made players improved and got the most out of a number players, plus he wins trophies which is the bottom line for the clubs who hire him.

Can I get the list of players Wenger developed AusKnight or do you know exactly where I'm going with this? ;-)

Spurs won 3 games right? Arsenal haven't won 3 games in the last years?

After a quick search the year Spurs made the champions league they won 3 games, the same year Arsenal won 4.....

A good youth academy will help him this time around. It was in year one of development last time around. Carlton Cole and Lenny Pidgely were the only players capabale of development at that time. Scott Sinclair and Ben Sahar were brought in and given first team debuts along with a few in the cups. None of which lasted beyond Ancellotti either.

Guys like Ballotelli, Cech, Carvalho were young and not first choice at the time if his arrival at the respective clubs.

The reason gooners hate him is because he raised the bar and made 12 draws unacceptable if you want to win the league.

- First and only manager to win every available competition in four separate countries, which along with Germany constitute the top five leagues in Europe
- First and only manager to reach the Champion's League semi-finals with four separate teams, winning twice
- Two Champions Leagues, seven Leagues, four cups, four super cups, two league cups and a UEFA Cup
- Twenty trophies in eleven seasons, and at least one every calendar year since 2002

But yeah, let's see if José is any good...

Ambrosini agent claims A-League interest

By Goal Australia
13/06/2013 10:19:00 AM

An unnamed Australian club has made an offer for outgoing AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini, though they face stern competition from the likes of West Ham

The agent of AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini claims the former Italy international has received an offer from Australia.

The 36-year-old midfielder is set to depart Milan after 18 years at the Serie A club, with interest in his signature from the likes of West Ham, Fiorentina or MLS outfit Los Angeles.

A move to the latter duo seems unlikely, but it seems an A-League club has also made a play for the veteran.

"Massimo did expect this decision [to be released from Milan], but he was still a bit upset. At this moment, seeing as he feels in good shape physically, we will evaluate offers", Ambrosini's agent Moreno Roggi said.

"The situation is we turned down an offer from Los Angeles. We have negotiations going on with West Ham, but nothing with Fiorentina, as they have not made us any proposals. Having said that, I do hear Ambrosini is on the list for the Viola if David Pizarro leaves.

"We received another offer this morning from Australia."

Ambrosini is likely to command a hefty wage should he accept a move to Australia, with Adelaide United, Melbourne Heart, the Central Coast Mariners, Perth Glory and the Wellington Phoenix without an international marquee.

Melbourne Victory have been in talks with Greece international Giorgios Karagounis, placing doubt on the status of current international marquee Marcos Flores.
