Madrid had the ability to spend 40 or 50 million even before they sold Higuain. That isn't the issue. The issue is they don't think he is worth that much.

We're the only club that is even in the vicinity of what Liverpool want. The 10 million separating us can be negotiated. We might add a couple million, they might lower their demands by a couple million and the remaining gap can be settled with add ons. X amount of games/goals/trophies = Y millions.

Even though Brendan Rogers said "forget it, 50 million plus" or words to that extent.....Good luck trying to "negotiate" with a club that is also going for UCL qualification in the same league.

The Bid is a PR stunt, they know it wont be accepted, and makes dumb fans think the club is trying to sign " World Class" Players, considering you have already spent over 60mill, its hard to believe, hint even sarcasm should make sense.

Problem with Rooney is Chelsea want him too and that would mean a likely bidding war that would inflate his price and make United the winner out of it. We feel we're the only ones serious about Suarez which makes it a preferable road to go down.

And the worry with Rooney is with his fitness issues, are his best days behind him?

Suarez is an A grade arsehole. I don't like him personally. I reckon he is a pretty shitty human. But I think we need a bit of nasty, a real mongrel to be in the trenches with us. We're missing the kind of player that can get under opponents skin and unsettle them off their game.

If we sign Suarez for between 40 and 50 million pounds it will bring us a lot closer to the title. And that's all I care about. We're buying him for his talent, not his personality.
