Wow. He's going to fit in perfectly imo. I'd heard some stuff about how Bojan might have been included in the deal from Barca's end but apparently that hasn't happened.

Guess this mean the end for Ibrahimovic at Barca?

Farewell El Guaje. You will be missed. :( To think I had finally decided to invest in a David Villa Valencia top. I might buy a Spain one instead now.

Five seasons, 108 league goals. A Los Che legend. I remember buying him on FIFA 2004 when I was playing as Valencia, during his days at Zaragoza, and wishing the club would pick him up in real life too and one year later my dream came true. To be honest, this is the right time, for him and the club, I'd like to see him play here forever, but he needs to start winning trophies, and the best place for him to do that is Barca. For Valencia, well, one more season and his value might have dropped a lot, he'll turn 30 during the next season, so from a financial perspective we've cashed in at the right time. The pricetag has probably lost a few million from what we could have got if we'd sold last season, but without him we might not have qualified for the CL so it worked out well in the end.

If Valencia can't win the Champions League next season I'll be cheering him on to do at Barcelona, that's for sure.

My favourite Villa moment:

He can show Barca how to knock Inter out of the Champions League.

well the heart and soul of valencia front line is gone, but he is a pure superstar and will go on to win the CL and league with barca ive never wanted him to leave but i guess the club needs money now...

How do you think we will re invest it, ive missed most the spanish season this yar so is there any young up and coming striker prospects out there we can get? and i guess we can use the money to finally get a defender after the loss of Albiol last year

We've already picked up a few players. Signed Mehmet Topal, a DM from Galatasaray, I think it was around 6m euros. Also got defender Ricardo Costa from Wolfsburg on a free transfer. And French wonderkid, Sofaine Feghouli from Grenoble has also claimed he's coming to us on a free. We've been targetting a lot of players on frees the last few seasons due to our dicey financial situation.

In terms of replacing Villa, rumours suggest moves for Andre Pierre Gignac of Toulouse, as well as Roberto Soldado from Getafe, and a player I personally see as the heir apparent to Villa, Adrian Colunga, who incidentally plays now for the club we bought Villa from, Zaragoza. check him out.

In terms of selling other players, I think we will offload some more, although I don't think it'll be a fire sale. There's interest in players like Mata, Banega and Silva, of course, but with Villa gone we will be looking to these guys to lead our new era. No point letting in the vultures when we've just gotten back into the Champions League. So I'm pretty confident those three will stay. Hopefully we can sell Zigic and maybe Pablo Hernandez, both of them have attracted some interest from the EPL and could probably go for 10 million euros plus.

Mata's a keeper I would think. In the handful of games I've seen him play this season, I was always impressed by him.

Soldado would be a great replacement for Villa. Proven goal scorer and I would imagine he would be available at a reasonable price.

yea we need juan mata for the future, if we do sell silva i hope its to man u or city for a stupid price like 40+ mill other than that keep him as he is one of the best wingers in spain...

from what ive seen of saldado he has great finishing ability so he would be a nice pick up, gignac is overrated and will leave at a big fee. heres a crazy one.... any chance we can get robinho for like 15mill and tevez for around 22?

is there any players out there that would be out there to help us the the last 16 of the Champions league?

Barcelona chasing one of their favorite prodigal sons. Negotiating with Cesc to return home. Cesc is leaving it up to Arsenal, seeing what they offer him.

BTW I'd like to ad while some might like seeing the back of Ibra, I won't be one of them. I love the guy and his leadership will be missed by myself (if he does go). I welcome Villa with open arms. But I would find it hard to accept that Ibra has gone after only 1 season at Barca. He scored the winning goal in December against Real in El Classico and has had flashes of brilliance since. I can understand him being a little upset after leaving the team who ended up winning the Champions League this year.
