Trial against the Warriors (14/2)

Our team last week was about as weak (on paper) as the Broncos side and it won easily against a side with some first grade players.

The match against Warriors was the first time a few guys had ever played against a first grade team, and more importantly was the first match a fair few players have played since injury last season. They got a good tough hit out which is what they needed.

That's exactly what trials are for. Giving young guys a taste and we got Taylor, Cartwright and co some game time. Give them more this week and hopefully they are 100% come round 1

Just watchin the replay, definitely Panthers way on top in the first 40 mins by a fair margin imo.
Only when the NSW boys come on and the refs evened up the penalties did the Warriors start to do anything.
All in all a good trial hit out with no injuries , thinking they will touch Parra up this week though if we keep our better players on for longer periods

We dominated the first half, but all that field position, possession and penalties didn't result in points on the board, and the fact Warriors could defend that is impressive.

I think Warriors have a reason to be proud of the way they handled our stronger squad. I just wonder if we would play that sort of footy if 2 points were on the line. We had no respect for possession and played very risky footy which is unusual for us.

That said I really liked it. We didn't make that many errors considering the risks taken. I hope we stick with it.
