Give Aekins 40 minutes, Laurie 20 and either Luai or Crichton the other 20?

Yeah let them have a go and see what happens. Also doesn't over do it like that as well risking injury.

In that case he must have a 2nd tier contract. Your probably right.

Given Aekins is almost certain to be fullback for the Roosters game, barring injury he needs good minutes in both trials. Laurie can have whatever minutes are left when Aekins get a rest.

This is it for me.
We have the Roosters and the Storm in the first 3 weeks I don't see Ivan playing it too venturous with someone out of position. Those two teams can expertly pin point weaknesses. I would hate to see Luai, Burton or Crichton crash and burn this early in their careers in an unfamiliar position in FG should they start the year at FB.
Aekins deserves a real shot at FB to see if he is any good.

I think you and I know the side will be different later on in the year. Young players like Crichton should push into the centres as the year goes on. I still feel Burton pushes out Luai.
Maybe mid year Laurie gets his chance?
Ivan will play it safe early on.

Give aekins 40 and naden 40 if nado is playing the trial I'm a massive Laurie fan but he's a bit raw for 1st grade.With our horror draw in the 1st 5 rds we can't afford to play a rookie fullback.Aekins is currently next in line although naden did a great job as Toyota cup fullback and captain he's more mature and has 1st grade experience.

They won’t just come into FG and carve up so need time. Best as injuries come to use that time to give young guys a chance

Maybe that should've been addressed when we had money to spend & instead bought two forwards??

Aekins deserves his crack. He's been far from poor when he's been given the opportunity in 1st grade. Over 300m in your first game (or any game) is not a common feat.

The issue is we have 2 fullbacks in our 36 man squad not the 30 man squad. Not that we don't have them at all.

0 tries and 0 try assists in 4 games. You need more than from a FG fullback

Sack cloth and ashes again. Framkly I don't understand all this woe is. Yep Dylan has an injury. Sad but it happens. Now a couple of young guns have a wonderful chance to step up and fill the gap.

It's called life. Look at To'o he came in when Dallin decided to leave. Like these young guns he had nothing to begin with. Look at him now....

To'o and Aekins are total opposites as players. If we pick someone as talented as To'o all good...But we are going to solid route.

I'm sorry but it is doom and gloom. I would add in woe is. Picking someone who is solid isn't the end of the world.

Fair enough you don't rate a player. I can understand that. It's not as though the club is completely berefit of talent. Your posts make it appear that way. if the club didn't have a good flowing junior pathways, it would be more difficult. But this is not the case.

In my opinion when a player makes over 300 meters in a game (which we lose) he rates as better than solid.

I remember Mika Sivo and Sione Katoa playing in NSW Cup, now they're not, would've been nice to see them in our FG side not at Pawwa's or at the Shire, point is we didn't rate them as a club, other clubs did
