Davis at fullback, Fuimaono in the centres, French in the halves and Tepu-Smith in the backrow are the interesting picks for the NYC.

The Wenty bench might give us a glimpse at the pecking order for the reserves while Pauli continues the tradition that Taniela Lasalo started with the legendary #26.

Seeing Seffa in the first grade team is a bit frustrating but the rest is as expected to be honest. De Gois has the match fitness advantage on Peats so no qualms with him starting.

Like the pack, think both our 3-4 are weak can't believe that Morgan and Champion are in the team
Then again taka range and toutai are not better and the younger guys need to play a bit of reserves before they get a shot, Kelly obviously won't be there but he's hopeless, joe Paulo is a waste of space. Wenty will win the comp, full of young talent.

Joseph Paulo must have a huge file on BA buried away somewhere.
How else could BA continue picking Joseph in our NRL squad???
Oh, yes, that's right he's only in his second year as an NRL coach.
Look, JP may blossom - BA must see something in him to persist like this.
If JP does not deliver, how many games will it take this season before BA chops him, 3, 4, 5, 6?

He was among our top lads for LBAs last year, he has a big workrate, and he misses very few tackles.

That puts him ahead of dozens of merkins at our club.

He won't blossom. Or deliver. But it may still take more than 6 games to see him dropped. And even then he's a good chance of coming back through injury and 'form slumps' by other players - ie we lose a few games.

Well he would be, wouldn't he? Given the role he's tasked with. He's still weak and ineffective in all those tackles he makes. And his decision-making seems below average. And he's slow. Great guy though.

He is a back rower and not a half. He does not penetrate the defensive line and crabs across the field a lot. He gets the ball in almost every set so he will achieve a few more LBA's over a season than other back rowers in the comp, generally speaking. With Sandow and Norman on the field, we are WASTING a spot on the bench for a solid punching back rower who can mop up and hurt in defence. You get the drift. At worst, we are better off with De Gois on the bench. De Gois will save us more points in defence during each game than Joseph Paulo putting on LBA's that lead to points and would be good enough to cover 6 or 7, with Peats, if Sandow or Norman got injured.
