Did u read a report or just the updates from the thread? thanks for the useless post mate.

If Magurie has performed well, aswell and Robo and Mortz then it fixes alot of problems for us. I read that Robsen set up a try off a grumber, that is probably the most pleasent thing i read.

I will still question the idea of Walker in the centres. Plus with injuries to Whats and Hicks early may suggest that some of these older guys may struggle to be fit week in week out and lot of our younger guys will have to fill in (not a bad thing!)

What the f**k!? I heard from several people on the other site and from written reports on another website by journalists that he was brilliant. Is that good enough? FFS. Apparently I'm not allowed to report what other people who watched the game have said. You are deadset kidding me. I thought you'd at least appreciate that Mcguire did well. Apparently not

On to the rest of your post.
Apparently Mortimer and Robson were both pretty good as well, and I was stoked to hear that Mortimer's kicking was good (according to people at the game).

I do agree, the only bad thing about having a lot of old heads is that they are potentially more prone to injury. Hopefully we do keep up these good combinations, considering our back-line was missing Reddy, Whatuira and co.

Speed was always what made him the player he was, if he's lost his speed it stands to reason as to whether he's still up to first grade. Guess we'll wait and see.

You're right, his speed was what made him special.

But he's fairly strong and well balanced, and even if he's not fast he's probably still 'fast enough'. But his defence was never one of his better qualities and I wouldn't be comfortable with him at centre.

If we're struggling for centres and have such a stockpile of back-rowers, couldn't Ben Smith play centre? Surely he could at least fill in.

anyway...on the trial itself....anyone who went...how did our young blokes go...especially morgan in the centres?

from my understanding the tandouts were

Robson - good signs from robbo
McGuire - Handy buy...
Horo - hopefully has a decent season again
Hayne - scored a try would be good for his confidence

who else stood out?

Maguire was outstanding!

I thought Walker was a revelation at right centre, really kept his opposing centre at bay and looked dangerious with the ball in his hand.

Ok, I guess! I mean, we hadthe service and it was lovely. And I was freaking out because I had 3 weeks to move out (I don't earn enough to live on my own, so I lived with Dad and I can't afford the rent on my own), but that's fixed now.

So my sister and I have finished his paperwork. All we have left is to do his taxes and get rid of old furniture.

But I feel it's finally sunk in and, whilst I miss him dearly, I think he's finally at peace from all his stress and it makes me happy.

great to hear that you've picked yourself up mate, looking forward to having a beer with you at the footy.

Morts was impressive, very decisive and has developed handy short kicking game, I even think he's quicker off the mark than last year.

Ryan Morgan is made for first grade, wasn't overawed and was up against Lawrence who I think handled him quite well.

Billy Rogers looks to be a very handy pick up and has neat passing game for a backrower.

more to come as I remember it..lol

Thanks stags.

Good news that we r starting to get some decent young blokes in the team. I'm intrigued to see if Morgan will snag a first grad spot in round 1 simply for impressing in the trials

I think that Morgan will snag a first grade spot for round 1 due to the facts we don't have many options with Reddy out. I noticed that Ben Smith appeared to be defending in the centres for the second half. Kearny might be looking at that as well.

Morgs split them in the first 5 minutes with a 30 metre burst and in the clear looked like a genuine first grader, he also defended against Lawrence and while Lawrence got passed him maybe once really stood up against him.

Benny was defending with Morgs and etu outside him, the tiges really put preasure on those blokes and whilst Lote scored a couple of tries they still did well against elite competition.
