take a look at the cover of the CD - it was released in 2003. They were all nominated for voting for Hottest 100 2003. Triple J must have been playing those tracks 18 months ago...

i thought the hottest 100 was chosen from songs released this year, regardless of when the album was released....obvioulsy i was mistaken

but that would answer why the darkness songs released this year werent on the list

It's more when Triple J have been playing the tracks (when they were on regular rotation) rather than release date. They were playing the Darkness in 2003 as well...
