Tui talks it up.

He was part of the top 25, so should still have been doing full time training with the Warriors squad

Keep hearing about how hard they are working though

How can Lolohea be unfit in June after pre-season, some NRL, and then all reserve grade matches? FFS

Embarrassing both for Tui and the club. The standard you walk past is the standard you set. His fitness is disgraceful really.

We have a history of fat unfit players, and it's acceptable for some crazy reason.

Laumape and Hurrell got in shape pretty fast in their respective new homes.

I read an article the other day - either Stuff or Herald - about Ken Maumolo and how he is improving and has cemented his starting place in the NRL side.

Basically Ken said his recent improvement is down to eating better (only junk food after the match) and putting in proper work at training, including staying behind for extras.

Not having a dig at Ken cause he is doing well and he was just being honest, but man that's just another indication to me that the warriors have a dud culture. Seems many of our fringe/young players don't watch their diet properly and don't train as hard as they should. Can you imagine fringe players for Super 15 sides or Australian NRL players not giving 100% to make that top side and be the best that they can? Very few I imagine. But then the Warriors have merkins, including regular first graders, who turn up overweight in pre-season, fatigue badly in tough games, and lack decent skills. That can only be a culture thing.

Such a shame. Really want this club to succeed.

The very fact that Maumalo is cementing his spot speaks volumes in itself. These basic skills should be accumulating at reggies level not top grade, it's pretty nuts such a limited player got a regular spot.

Good for him, but CNK wins his spot any day.

Isn't it amazing how at the Warriors, you're worthy of praise if you train hard, eat well and prepare well. It's worthy of a whole story.

Hold on. That's your f**king job. I'm not having a go at Ken, because he didn't write or decide to run the story. But the fact the media even think to write this story.

Anyone ever read an 'All Black training hard and eating well' story? Course you haven't. Yet we get it with Konrad, Issac etc. Wow look at me, I've had a big off-season. So what? You're on $500k + a year, did you think for a second you wouldn't have a big off-season?
