I read an article the other day - either Stuff or Herald - about Ken Maumolo and how he is improving and has cemented his starting place in the NRL side.
Basically Ken said his recent improvement is down to eating better (only junk food after the match) and putting in proper work at training, including staying behind for extras.
Not having a dig at Ken cause he is doing well and he was just being honest, but man that's just another indication to me that the warriors have a dud culture. Seems many of our fringe/young players don't watch their diet properly and don't train as hard as they should. Can you imagine fringe players for Super 15 sides or Australian NRL players not giving 100% to make that top side and be the best that they can? Very few I imagine. But then the Warriors have merkins, including regular first graders, who turn up overweight in pre-season, fatigue badly in tough games, and lack decent skills. That can only be a culture thing.
Such a shame. Really want this club to succeed.
