to be fair TV3 stumped up the big bucks to pay for RWC07 so its not too hard to understand why there pumping rugby at the moment...

i agree though.... overkill at the moment... even more so after the ab's getting knocked out... everytime i see rugby i get F*cked off.... i need a good long cricket season... lots of test cricket!!

Please no! Cricket is the summer version of rugby. Having played school and club cricket, I feel that cricket administrators are of the same mould as rugby administrators. Actually, this country bends over backwards for rugby and cricket. As with league, I wanna see more attention given to softball, touch, tag, beach volleyball, american football, beach soccer...

Are we not world champions in softball and divisions in touch and tag?

I know I sound like a broken record, but some of these other sports could do with some financial assistance. After all, cricket 4th in world cup 2007, team nz 2nd americas cup and all blacks 5th - 8th, lack of medals in commonwealth games. This demonstrates that most of the sport funding money was not well invested in our sporting pursuits.

I enjoy cricket. Playing and watching. I enjoy watching softball and Volleyball (womens beach variety) and I am stumped to why they dont get as much coverage as cricket. Afterall NZ is the best at softball and we have some up and coming volleyballers.

As for not a mention of All golds...

Yeah that would get me depressed as well.

But take heart, some people must live in Auckland. If only to keep Statistics New Zealand happy.

Lol, Love Wellington, although I must admit seen bugger all else of the N.I. Had absolutely 100% negative comments about Auckland, not overly interested in going there, apart from to take in a Warriors home game sometime. Even people I know who live there don't seem that happy about it.

I suppose I should be happy the All Golds got reasonable coverage on the News, but for a one-in-a-hundred-years celebration, and the full retirement of one of our sporting icons I expected better than pushed down the news. Didn't think many people gave a **** about the WC final, and most people I know even forgot the Air NZ rugger final was on.

Totally agree about more softball on the news too. Great game, and we're ****ing good at it! Lol, who can forget the Softball final few years back held in Chch- We'd just won, our proud NZ capt just took the cup and stood up for the speech...And TVNZ went to the news, cut him off in his first sentence! That was absolutely disgraceful.
