What are your thoughts on TVN guys ? I think they are amateurish, the tv picture is rubbish, the two Callenders quite frankly irritate me and Ken is a reknowned loser in terms of the betting area and i wish he'd stop spitting in my face ;-), and they've done unbelievable harm to the racing industry.

Im thinking of setting up a campaign to piss these jokes off for good ... i want my SKY channel back ffs !! GO AWAY TVN ... you are the biggest disgrace since Superleague.

Agree or not ?

TVN has stuffed Sydney and Victorian racing for me...if i can't watch it at home on a saturday arvo, i don't care one bit about it.

It will also damage my main income stream for next season...but that is a totally different matter

Yeah it's sh*t, especially as it's covering the two biggest race meets on a weekend, and causes so many people to miss the start.

i love it when the older guys in the TAB start an argument with the TAB operator:

"but i put the ticket in before they jumped!!"
"yes, sir, but the tv is on a slight delay to the actual race"
"i dont care what delays there are, i put my bet on before they jumped on the tv"

i personally think that there should be 2 seperate channels: 1 for horses and 1 for trots and greys combined. tvn ans sky channel resource all their stuff together and provide 2 seperate channels, both available on cable pay tv

Yep i hate not being able to see Sydney and Melbourne races on a Saturday.
I lose alot money concerning this as well.
I tend to sometimes have a bet on Gold Coast or Newcastle/Kembla just because i see the race. I then look at the field for Melbourne/Sydney and like something. I end up betting at every bloody race meeting.

I agree TVN is pretty poor and like you guys I want this war to end. I have both Sky & TVN at home so I get to watch all of the races and punt over the net but it is a pain not to have ALL racing on ONE channel. The war is a disgrace and they are letting racing fans down.

tvn is geniused. its just a shoddy production from go to woe. Every punter should refuse to bet on NSW and VIC events until we force them to come together. Ken Callendar is a knob of the highest order

Seems I'm the only one that actually likes it. Sky channel has wall to wall coverage so they don't have time for things like replays. I like being able to watch the replays in the TAB and they also show you most horses previous runs. But I don't have Fox at home so it would probably bother me if I did and couldn't watch Sydney and Melbourne.

i do like the concept of TVN, but the way it's being run now is ridiculous. they need to pool every resource together and then we've have the best judges, best racecallers, replays, mounting yard info etc etc

Every week you hear the Racing TV war is going to end.
Remember when one of the sides said they were looking at running a digital channel for racing (like the News Channel or interactive League Channel) where you could select from 8 or so screens and watch that particular meeting?
I'd like to beleve it would happen but as has been mentioned the picture quality of TVN is very ordinary.Skys not much better.
How would they provide the digital service when they cant get a decent picture?
You'd think that they could at least broadcast in widescreen.
Suppose they'd rather spend their money on fighting each other than providing a top class racing service.
