My take is it’s a confidence thing, pure and simple. You often see BB in the middle of an incisive run stop, prop and give off to a runner in a worse position. The young buck just needs to back himself and i don’t mind the option of giving him a breather to press the point. The good thing about our roster is we don’t need to do that every game. Horses for courses.
Which is why I have my doubts he would accept the 14 role. Grant can because he can see the benefits and gets to play origin/Aus for it. I think if we sat Blayke down and explained we just signed you to be the man for the next 4 years (I think he is the longest signed Shark or equal longest) but we think this is how the game is moving he might get it. Imagine if you put Ennis' mindset in him - which is why I didn't mind the niggle sin bins. Get some merkin in your game if you have to do all that dirty work.

On the Nicho thing - those two are close off the field and I can only assume Nicho being the guy that he is would be encouraging BB to take off.

Anyway I can't think of a bad BB game this year(or really ever). But you can tell the toll the season took on him based on what we saw from his attack along the season. I saw something with Fitz saying he kept trying to give Brailey a break but it just never worked out. The fact Berrell what 26 and re-signed with us long before the pre season tells me we have spoken to him about some sort of plan also.

Frenzy.

Except the criticism on BBs attack predates Nicho.

I’m certain Fitz et al want more out of him, just that he hasn’t delivered yet. Nicho doesn’t strike me as a bloke who blows up deluxe if he’s not fed the pill either.

I doubt he'd blow up but the game plan was obvious. He averaged something like 3 touches per set.

I'm not sold on the idea of trying to copy teams who do the 2 hooker thing. Because they can. BB will never be an Api or a Harry and he'll always be a plug until our props start covering better. BB is the biggest spot player in the game.

I don't agree he lacks confidence. I think he plays under fatigue from all his defensive work.

Maybe a little from column A and a little from column B. I still think confidence is a real factor because he doesn’t kick the damn thing either. And it’s not like he runs early in games then is out of puff at the back end.

Love the bloke, just think either we can get more out of him, or he can get more out of himself. Hope he unlocks it all.

BB should not play 80 min. Take the grubber kick out of the box. Sifa has one as well. We should be scoring mor points with those plays. It’s frustrating.
McInnes gets rag dolled in most games , yess give him a go at hooker but what will he bring In attack? Berrell looks quicker than McInnes and should know the system by now.

Agree for all bar Berrell. Not sure he is the answer. The whole structure is frustrating, but I think a lot boils down to BB just going for it, calling something and the shots. ATM he is a tackling machine and nothing more. Damn I’m sure I’ve posted this before. Love the bloke it he has to be more selfish to live up to the joey john’s origin possible accolades

To the point where it was nearly Ippyball at times.

I’m not saying Berrell is the answer but neither is playing BB for eighty min. McInnes is there as well , next to useless as a lock in attack.
