Despite him not being well known he was highly rated at Souths before Seibold came along. Has really good leg drive for post contact metres and knows how to run lines. Only issue is he can be a shirt grabber in defence but he’s quite young so that will probably resolve itself. Running second rower all the way. Played Australian Schoolboys too. If he stays on the field he’ll be a very good player.

Probably the best signing we've made in the off season ( maybe due to our poor recruitment).

He definitely has ability but injuries and a few other issues have held him back.

He has the skill my only concern is does he have the will to succeed.

Up to him now.

Shirt grabber?..well he will fit right in with the Ben Hunt and other flankers school of defending lately

I cringe whenever we sign someone who has been held back by injury. Can't help feeling it will be another Kyle Stanley, Mose Masoe, Dan Hunt etc.

At least he will be cheap.

Pretty much word for word what a souffs supporter mate told me.

Panthers junior who went to souffs for crack at first grade and played 20 games there and showed some promise until seibold got there.

Went back to pennies and injuries hampered his chances and now he's a Dragon.

Only young and has some skill.

Welcome aboard Fui!

Tbh he’s more of an Ethan Lowe type where he can fill in at centre if needed. I think his best position has always been in the second row where he can get more ball. He’s a big unit so sometimes he can get caught out at centre through pace.

Yeah Seibold is very particular on the players he likes. If he doesn’t like a player they’re not going to receive game time. Fui will be a full time NRL player if given the chance I expect him to come in handy for you guys around Origin time especially.

Dragons sign Fuimaono

St George Illawarra have announced Tyrell Fuimaono has signed with the Dragons on a two-year deal.

Fuimaono – who is capable of playing a number of positions – joins the Dragons until at least the end of the 2021 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

The 23-year-old former Rabbitoh and Panther has played 26 first grade games to date and is a welcomed addition to the Dragons' Top 30 squad.

The former Australian Schoolboy and 2016 member of the Holden Cup Under-20s Team of the Year commenced training with the Red V on Monday.

"I'm very excited to get among this group of boys and I'm keen to seize this opportunity that has been presented to me. I'm very grateful and excited to be at the Dragons," Fuimaono said.

"I'm looking to get back to my best footy and hopefully make my way into the NRL team. That's what everyone at this level strives to achieve; to become a consistent fixture in first grade will be really good for me."

Director of Rugby League Pathways Ian Millward said he was excited to see Fuimaono don the Dragons' colours following an injury-disrupted previous two years.

"Tyrell has faced a number of injury challenges in recent seasons, but with age on his side we're excited to see him hopefully reach his potential at our club," Millward said.

"He is capable of playing in the back row and the centres which will be fantastic for the wider squad's versatility and depth.

"With fellow young forwards such as Jacob Host, Josh Kerr and Jackson Ford pushing for first grade spots, Tyrell will add another dimension in the competition for spots leading into the season ahead."

Fuimaono joins Trent Merrin, Issac Luke and Brayden Wiliame as the Dragons' recruits so far ahead of the 2020 season.

'Director of Rugby League Pathways Ian Millward...'

Why does Millward have 'Rugby League' in his title?

Interesting signing
Afl players with injuries joining new clubs have a good success rate at rehab

I suspect with the the NRL they are getting better and better and starting to catch up with the afl - more professionals crossing over from AFL to work at NRL also

He got training again in Dec 2018 after a season of syndesmosis ankle recovery.....generally a tough injury to shake for 4 to 12 weeks recovery depending on severity
But is now injury free
Had 7 games for panthers

Has a lot of potential for back row short minute bench bursts like a Luc as very attacking ballplaying edge
.... but also looked ok in the centres for south's

We get him for peanuts and a shot at competing for a spot over two years and can play centre competently at souths

Capewell unlikely to have beaten Friz nor sims for a starting spot and wanted $500k pa and we can't pay capewell that much for the centres as he aint that good a centre

I'm happy
Value
Plenty of upside
Committed to Ford, sims,Friz and now Fuimaono for the edge spots

Host writing on the wall ?
