Congrats France. Missing a few from them being called into the Catalan squad.

Super league website is taking a long time reporting on the match.

France once again displaying it's raw potenitial.
Tonga being bullied by the NZRL - incredulously.
But hey, it's all good. Ticket sales for Origin in Perth next year are gangbusters..
This game will go nowhere while the current mob are in charge..

It’s nothing to do with Super League. They don’t have to report it. Is it on the NRL website?

The England team that played wasn't the proper England academy team though was it? It was the "community" England team...which is essentially the barla England team

First off, I will say I'm happy to see the U19s tournament return, I'm happy that the US has been offered an opportunity to take part and that Serbia is once again hosting the tournament.

What I'm disappointed to see is that the 2024 tournament is barely a shadow of the 2022 or 2018 events.

The last 2 tournaments had 8 teams, with Ireland, Wales & Italy not taking part this year.

Secondly, the 2018 tournament at least had every team play 3x80 minute games, whilst the 2022 tournament saw every team play 6x20 minute games, before the Finals were full 80 minute matches.

Both approaches ensured that every squad got a reasonable hit out. This year however is just knock outs.

In Round 1, USA will play Scotland, whilst Serbia hosts Ukraine. Winners will face France & England in the Semi Finals.

The runners up of the Round 1 games will play in a 5th/6th play off, whilst there will also be a 3rd/4th and Final, meaning most teams will only play 2 games.

So we've gone from 13 games, to 31 and now down to 7.

As a 2018 event attendee it is good to see it continuing alas if not progressing.

That said a lot has changed in the world these last six years.
I just don't understand why they couldn't have just rigged the draw so everyone plays 3 games (versus 4 teams playing 2 and 2 playing 3) at least. Maximise everyone being in Serbia and let the weaker teams have the opportunity to face an England or France.

Results from the tournament

Opening Round:
Scotland 32 - 10 USA
Ukraine 24 - 4 Serbia

Grading Games:
USA 40 - 12 Serbia
USA 26 - 22 Ukraine
Scotland 54 - 0 Serbia

Very encouraging to see the USA win against Serbia & Ukraine and push Scotland.
