I approve. Let's see how much money I can save post Chinese Year trip to somewhere exotic and cheap.

Thinking I'll tick off Laos and Vietnam, but their beaches are shit.

Well, Montana has no beaches. So that's crossed off.

Should go to Madagascar.

 It'll be SE Asia in January. I get 3-4 weeks off, and rather than a long haul flight and expensive stuff - it's easier just to find somewhere warm and cheap nearby and chill.

Then I'll start saving for a trip when I wrap up my next contract in September (assuming I get renewed).

Because -23 isn't warm and chill? ;-)

I was just looking for a fellow Australian buddy to cause havoc with!

In all seriousness, that sounds awesome - Just find the right place to go. I've heard people rave about the more "un heard of" areas of Thailand and Philippines.

Today, at university we discussed the whole anti/pro vaccines debate and how the new scientific evidence states that it does not equal autism. Gave some very interesting debate, considering some of the people studying medicine opposed it, due to moral (or religious) beliefs.

Seriously? People are studying medicine and think this?

They won't get past the first semester. Being anti vac is a clear violation of the hipocratic oath.

First, do no harm.

Just because they study medicine, does not mean they are without opinion. Even "some" Doctors oppose it, no idea how they could, but they do.

If you ask me, I'm all for them and think they should be a requirement for both the welfare of the individual and those they are around/exposed to.

But hey, that's just me.

The only sort of doctor who would oppose vaccines would clearly spend their off time wading around in the local pond scooping up bread to eat.

doctors who oppose vaccinations are clearly doing this only for the personal gain of future income providing treatment for those who are sick with preventable diseases..

as such, they are taking a commercial standpoint over a medical one and shouldn't be allowed to practice.

Oh, I am 100% on board with coming over there to wreak havoc at some point. My former skinny dipping coach is there and she's been promising to set me up with her Montanan friends since she got engaged and went off the market.

They're frustrating people, TBH. I don't get their attitude. I actually said to people who wanted to come visit 'Little-Miss Drew' that if they weren't vaccinated, or had contact with people who hadn't been vaccinated, to not bother coming as I wouldn't let them in the house.

Question for discussion. One of my favourite bands for a number of years was LostProphets; a Welsh alt band.

Their lead singer, Ian Watkins, was charged and found guilty of some pretty horrendous pedophilia.

Now, I haven't gotten rid of their CD's I own. I've still got them, but up until the other day I had not listened to their music. On Sunday I cracked their CD for the first time, but felt a little... uneasy.

So my dilemma is - does the actions of Watkins disqualify his music from being played, or is it ok to listen to it despite his involvement?

Did he? I didn't know that. I liked some of their stuff

I figure you've already bought it, so he already has the money. Might as well enjoy the music. It's just music, in the end.

Artist or Art huh? As much as you would like them separated completely, the former always influences the latter. You can listen to music by hard men, but the tone changes when you know they are hard. See any gangster rap.

I think it is fine to listen to music no matter the crime of the artist, just don't ignore it. Hitler made some pretty sweet paintings, for example. If you still like the product with the veil of their personality hanging over it, then fine. If you feel uneasy, and that's not what you want, then i would suggest not listening. But only judge on the art, and how it makes you feel. Don't not listen on principle or morals or some shit.

I like this UT btw, quality over quantity. For now.

I think what Watkins did, pretty much puts me in a similar boat, Drew. I bet it hits home a little more for you having a bub of similar age to some of his victims.
I haven't had anything come up on shuffle yet, but I'd probably skip it.

Do the rest of the band deserve that though? I.guess it's a personal choice at the end of the day...

Funeral For a Friend are the better welsh band anyway :p

I had a similar moral dilemma when Chris Benoit (pro wrestler) was found to have brutally murdered his wife and child. Having been a fan of his matches for a long time, I wasn't sure if it was still 'okay' to enjoy them or to say he was one of my favourite wrestlers.

Ultimately, I decided that what he'd done in the ring and the performances he put in, were things done by a different guy to the one who snapped and murdered his family. Not literally, obviously, but I was able to separate the two.
