Looking forward to seeing PJ in the blue and gold again, and by the sounds of he is too. Things are definately looking brighter for next year, hopefully good times are ahead for us Eels fans.

Great news for PJ & fellow eels supporters, boy i hope he fires up big time at half next year, he has the potential to do that very much so, lets hope he gets the right go forward from his team mates to lay platforms.

No one else would have signed him except Parra. I'd imagine that would have picked him up for peanuts.

He picked up nearly $1M for the 3 years he spent at Parra, so I wouldnt get too cocky.

You watch if Dykes can stay on the park he will fire for Cronulla. He was one signing that if uninjured would have made the last two seasons different.

I agree, up the eels.
While Dykes isn't really a massive loss for us, I think he will probably be great back at the Sharks if he stays injury free.
He is a quality player, just had some bad luck with injuries while he was with us.
But in saying that, he didn't perform well at all when he did get on the field and a few games under his belt, I guess Parra just wasn't the club for him.
It won't surprise me if he fires for Cronulla.

What happened when he got injured. I know that a 2 lock strategy doesnt work. But with Dykes being the sole playmaker we would have been in a better position by the end of the year. Unfortunately he was injured and Witt was given the job along with Thorman. If Dykes had stayed fit I think a 7th or 8th finish was possible. I just dont think Witt at his age is able to organise a 1st grade team. He cant even dominate in a prems game.

True, Dykes could have been a better choice.

I don't really think Witty's age has anything to do with it.
He simply didn't play at his best this year and I agree, he didn't organise the team and take control of the game as he should have, but in 2003 he was playing well for his debut season. Witty has talent, I'm not quite prepared to write him off just yet. But yes, I do know he still has a long way to go.

I think Dykes as the sole playmaker was too predictable in attack. We had more wins while he was on the field, but still went under 50% win ratio for the games he played. Why they didn't play two playmakers in the halves from the start this year and get a combo going I'll never know...

I think the Sharks will be soft next year, and can't see them being a threat at all. I can't think of anyone they've signed that will help them improve on what they had this year.

I don't think that's his fault. He was chopped and changed around between premier league and first grade, and then again between five eighth and halfback and not being given time to gel. His confidence as a player will only increase with stability.
